Ebay And Drop-Shipping

Hello,
I am locating in Greece,
I would like to sell products that I dropship from Hong Kong or any other sources
The reason is obvious the shipping costs!
(also this the reason that i lost my 11yo account)

Can you provide me a better way to dropship products?
i am also register user to worldwidebrands and esources and also i dropship from some suppliers from there!

What i can do?

I appreciate any help
Thanks in advance

Hello, welcome to the forums.

It's very difficult to find good drop-shippers, you can easily get scammed.

Are you selling to Greece? If so the best for you would be to have the items in hand, it will be less hassle and more profit.

All the best of luck to you.

Hello Chan
Thanks for your reply!
Before my account got suspended i had 723 sales and none in Greece!

Most of them was in USA, CA and UK

Dropshipping has been discussed many times. There are too many Con's for dropshipping and thus is not recommended.

The following is from a post similar to this one:

The problems are as follows:

1. Quality of Product
If the product your gonna dropship is below customer standards, your going to get negative feedback and low DSR.

2. Time of product arriving to Customer
Customers might complaint about either non receipt or long shipping times which leads again to negative feedback and low DSR.

3. Returns of items
Who does a customer return bad items too? Who pays for return postage? You, your dropshipper?, customer?

I would suggest you get your hands on the products 1st and then decide if you want to continue. A lot of people Rave on how awesome drop-shipping is but yet if you would ask those same people if they are currently doing it....the answer is NO, hmmm wonder why? :noidea:

MM78 thanks for the answer!
I also try it to ship from here in Greece
with Fedex the shipping cost was 16 euros to ship in USA the product cost was 32$
and delivered in 5-7 days

But if i dropship it from hong kong (with EMS) it will arrive to USA in 5-10 days and the cost remains the same!
32$ to worldwide with ems!

Thats why i use it! and i have the suppliers for this one!

Also for returns some of my suppliers pays the returns! for all the others the buyer pays the returns as i also post it to auctions!

Hey, if you can get a good process down I don't see why you can't try it.

Drop shipping only works when the product isn't VERO and the supplier has quality control for their products. The problem is that most suppliers do a lousy job of packaging, and the goods are hit or miss.

Drop shipping can be done... If done right...

Also, test your supplier and dropship product to yourself once in a while...
Also if you could have few pieces on hand in case you need one quick...

I would not go back to drop shipping as profits are too low and other problems have already been posted.

It is something I would only do again if I had no capital...

I only see the argument against dropshipping on forum, and I tend to agree, but alot of people do it on ebay and make money, the downside of it for me is none of the above, the danger is listing their whole inventory and only some sell, leaving you with listing fees for the rest that did not sell that eat in to your profits. You can research alot, but sometimes hard to predict what will definately sell each time....personally I would only dropship from UK supplier. The other main drawback is that competition is tight, near impossible to get exclusive contract.

That's the KEY problem with dropshipping. Many years ago majority of Powersellers did this.

I used to dropship constantly and over the years had good success, in more recent times with dsr,s etc I have changed the plan. I now ship all products to the country I am selling in (mainly UK) then list them when I know they are their. That way there is next day delivery and customers are generally very happy. Profits are not affected that much as I ship in bulk, however general customer service has improved greatly.

Hope you find a good dropshipper.

Out of interest -

are you dropshipping from a supplier in the UK or from abroad like China?

sax4 09-10-2012 11:27 AM

I cannot elaborate unfortunately.

It has no implications on your business model or sales ....:S

sax4 09-10-2012 02:31 PM

I am not dropshipping from China, but using some very reliable companies around the world.

Why not just look for drop shippers in your own country? I've managed to find quite a few of them in the US.

sax4 09-11-2012 05:52 AM

Why would I? My companies are almost flawless, packaging, delivery, communication. I'm doing rather well

Most of them are sellers themselves.
