Advice with Aliexpress???

Anyone had any success using ali? I have heard some horror stories but it seems like the only real way to make a decent amount on ebay. Any items I should stay away from? Good items to sell? I have a few grand to throw down on an initial purchase but pretty much a noob at this point.

Your going to have to do your own research, no one call tell you what you should sell, look into items you have a good and deep knowledge of.

You are pretty safe on Aliexpress because they have their own escrow service, which I have found to be legit, and you will generally be paying with a chargebackable credit/debit card. The products though are hit or miss. Some good none-branded items but lots of ⊗⊗⊗⊗. The one thing to be weary of is alot these sellers will list items before they are ready to be shipped and take 30+ days to ship the item (still in production/testing is what they will tell you).

I have used aliexpress/alibaba for a lot of purchases. Always do the first one or two purchases using escrow and hen anything after that by bank transfer.

You will nearly always get a better price than advertised and if you see a product that has MOQ higher than you want just ask the seller anyway.

OP do what we all had to do ourselves

Search, research, search and research.

Find what you are interested in and look at that area.

Research the sellers - feel them out.

You can find a lot of ⊗⊗⊗⊗ items on aliexpress, but that doesn't mean that it's allowed here they are just no so sctrict as ebay.
So generally sell legal staff, deliver fast.

Re: Advice with Aliexpress???

-aliexpress is much safer than alibaba in my opinion....alibaba is safe when paid via paypal or escrow tho, stick to those until you get to know a seller you can pay other ways and possibly drive the cost even lower
-alibaba almost always has lower price/item than aliexpress but you do have to order more product
-aliexpress usually doesnt charge for shipping where on alibaba they will tack it on (which also can be negotiated)
-standard shipping time seems to be dramatically faster via express than baba

what i do is always bargain with them to get their lowest price on a big order then hit them with lowering their MOQ if its higher than what you wanted....it make take a few go arounds but i almost always get what i want....i also send them quote from other manufactures and they almost always beat the other guy a few back and forths that way can get you a solid deal
cheers
