UPS and Customs - Clearance Time?
 

This will be the first time receiving a shipment from overseas via UPS. I always go DHL or FedEx. This time the seller sent UPS when I specifically said to ship DHL.

I have always had my shipments clear customs within a matter of hours, longest was only 12 hours or so and then it went on its way. This time, tracking shows it went to customs at 8:06am on 02/01 and has been sitting since.

Yes, I know it can take days...weeks, blah blah. But as I said, I have always only received shipments through DHL or FedEx which have cleared in 12 hours tops. What kind of customs delays has everyone had in regards to UPS?

You do know it's the weekend right? In which case your package arrived on the last day before the weekend and you're already complaining? Give it a break and wait until they are back in business on Monday for it to even have a chance to clear customs. You claim to have experience importing with DHL and FedEx in which case their weekends operate just the same so I'm confused yet again as to why you are blown away by this slight "delay" which is nothing but normal...

All of my shipments have been during the week, not over a weekend. Customs does run weekends though. UPS doesn't (except Saturday) but customs is a 24/7 operation.

You will rarely ever, if at all, see updates on the weekend with shipments. Sorry you don't have experience with this, but I am not going to argue with you about any of it either. Get over it and wait until Monday or Tuesday. If you really still can't sit still until then, call UPS so they can give you the same answer.

This is already resolved, it was clearing in China and already arrived yesterday. Some reason it said it was in Ontario, CA but it wasn't. //end.

Maybe they rerouted it and placed a tracking device on it, since the most common port for placing tracking devices is Ontario, CA....sleep tight

really? Never heard of someone gteting a tracking device put on their package
