off site products

ive been outa the game for a long time .. i find myself in a real pickle. i am in need of funds as fast as i can get them. im wondering what are the thoughts of post items with a location that will give me enough time to sell the items order them against my cc and ship when they arrive. i dont want to wait for the shipment b4 i place adds.

oompaloompa 06-29-2013 11:05 AM

if you give it long enough on shipping time it can work, eg over 5 days for dispatch and then shipping can be another 5 days.

As for differing location, that is one you need to think about, as it can go wrong either way...

Dmshark25 06-29-2013 11:18 AM

Yea drop shipping this is done all the time just find out how long it will take to receive the item after purchasing so you can setup the correct handling time as mentioned

JamesNorth101 06-29-2013 12:41 PM

Drop shipping is pretty common, but you can come unstuck if you get 21 days hold in PP and you need to buy the item. EB are also not fond of drop shipping so you cannot let them become aware of it.

get a loan end of story

Dmshark25 06-29-2013 03:23 PM

The OP stated he has a credit card so that's not an issue here I think just worried over shipping times

GreenBean 06-29-2013 05:10 PM

I am more worried about his backup plans if the drop shipping flunks

:pout:

Going to drop ship on eBay because of some pickle has the potential to become bad

:nono:

If YOU choose to dropship do NOT pay your dropshipper with funds from your pp used for sales ...have separate accounts for buying and selling (just a suggestion if you can manage this)

Just have to pay off the cc when the statement comes and it gives you a due date to avoid interest

Have not seen your name here for a long time.

Dropshipping can be rough.

Make sure you check your source before paying out a dime.

Many have been scammed.

Good luck.

Am I missing Something?,,,you say that you have a CC,,so Order your items, recieve and sell them as FAST as possible, Pay you CC IMMEDIATLY, and do it all over again,,,you may actually be able to sell your items as soon as your supplier Confirms Shipment so while your items are in Transit to you, you are selling them, it is a little risky, but it may work for you depending on the Item, where it is comming from, your suppliers integerity, ect, ect, ,,and you can pretty much avoid that whole dropshipping thing,,hell thats the way I started,,,

Sandy D 06-30-2013 12:16 AM

After your post I had to re read it myself.

Thinking if you have a cc you can have it sold before bill even comes due.

JamesNorth101 06-30-2013 06:02 AM

Solution seems to me to be buy items with CC, get items, sell items, shop items, withdraw from PP and pay CC. Rince and repeat.

yotano211 06-30-2013 08:32 PM

This idea will not work and will get you into trouble. What if the item(s) are postponed at customs for days or weeks or seized. You will have to refund many buyers. I did this on 4 occasions and it didn't so well, had the paypal limited for too many refunds. I was lucky the ebay account was still good with no bad feedback. I made a "package came damage" excuse and all of the buyers bought it. I simply made a new paypal and attached to the same ebay and moved on from there. But never again it did it.

It looks like the OP doesn't want to do drop shipping but have the items sent to his personal address and then ship out to the buyers. He/She will be in control of his/her packages but he/she wont have them in hand. I would go with drop shipping better, at least drop shipping is small items. I'm sure you want to order large amounts of items at once.

You are assuming that he is Importing, Not only that, you are assuming he is importing "China Specials",,,that is why I said that this plan depends on the Item, where it is comming from and His Suppliers integrity,,,if he is dealing with Apple Ipods Purchased on his Credit Card from a Company like Ingram Micro,,,believe me he will have NO problem Whatsoever,,

yotano211 06-30-2013 11:28 PM

I am not assuming that the OP is selling "china special, lol". I did assume that he/she is importing items. The OP didn't really say much for us to work on.

If the OP was importing, packages can still be delayed for any reason even if item is what ever. I had hard drives from Taiwan get delayed for over a week cuz the drugs dogs sniffed something juicy. It ended being a false alarm.
