China post only ever takes at most about 3 weeks for me. DHL and FedEx about 3 days and EMS at most a week normally.

I mean when it arrives at the port then it is upto me to have to have the goods delivered. I will need a freight forwarded i hunk but I have no experience with this.

How large is this shipment that it is arriving at port?

I am buying a sample to begin with which is 1/6 of the moq. The sample weighs 10kg so a full order would weight roughly 60kg.

I am having the first sample sent by air but it is costing me a extra $300 almost. But I imagine a freight forwarded would cost close to this and will have less hassle by air and less time to wait.

I must weight weeks for the item to be create from scratch.

.

When importing merchandise, pricing is usually based on FOB from origin and then you are responsible for it when it hits your port.

Remember that the manufacturer is working for you, so have them do the leg work in finding you a freight forwarder. If they have been importing for a while then they should have connections.

(There is another question to ask, when interviewing suppliers.)

@arshavin, good choice to opt for Escrow if possible.

10kg,60 kg ,I suggest send by air.You will find it also cost much to by sea.You can ask your supplier to send by EMS. DHL is faster but have higher customs taxes .EMS usually has less.
