Many Packages: UPS Pickup

I have to ship out a lot of packages and my car is in the shop so I have no way to get to the post office. Have any of you guys used the UPS/USPS pickup service at home for alot of packages?

I've used it once! You just leave it in your mailbox or on your porch and they pick it right up for you. Very convenient!

Put them in a big box? I have 50 individual packages that needs to be shipped. None are over 2 lbs.

hire someone you know to take you give them $20 bucks or so. Or hire someone on craigslist to take you to the post office. You DO NOT want to be late shipping packages this time of year. customers will complaining left and right.

That's a good idea too if you have a lot of packages. Just make sure they're in a place where the mailman or UPS can find it.

Yea, I have a friend who use to leave them on the pourch to be picked up. Worked fine for about 3 months. Then one day 30 or so packages were stolen. Personally here in the states. I drop off all my packages or hand them directly to a driver.

Those 24 hour USPS drop bins come in pretty handy. Anything I don't ship out during the day I drop off in the evening in those drop boxes. Kinda nice being able to roll up at 9 or 10 pm and throw them in there and know they will be out the next morning.

Re: Many Packages: UPS Pickup

My car to was in the shop a couple months ago. So I went ahead did the free USPS pick up i have all priority mail. I did it for three days my car was in the shop thought it was the best thing ever so I kept going for two weeks. Well after two I started getting responses that their packages weren't received so I went to check and at least eight packages did not even scan. This was back in October I went from January to October not one problem like this, I brought every package to the post office to drop it off never problem and said to myself wow how come. USPS gets a bad rep about losing packages, well that was quickly answered when eight packages just disappeared on me.

How did you deal with the 8 missing packages?

Wow, so it's safe to say I won't use USPS pick up. Has anyone did FedEx or ups?

At least your postal carriers will pick up packages.

Mine will not even come into our building.

Re: Many Packages: UPS Pickup

I would never hire someone from Craigslist or depend on someone else to pick up your packages. If you car is in the shop, I would hire a taxi to take me to the post office directly. Cheaper than trying to explain to people why they didnt get their items and having to refund their money back.

If you guys have a UPS store, Fedex/Kinkos, or a small mom and pop PO Box place near by, they will accept all types of packages for you. Some charge a small fee to take packages from some carriers over a certain amount of packages from a single person.

I had to reship all 8 and talk my way out of getting a negative which I did and now I deliver to PO myself

Good services but additional fees involved unless you have corporate deal

Second on UPS pickups? Im interested in trying this but im nervous about theft and lost packages. I feel much secure dropping the items off at my local UPS hub.
Anyone had any issues?

Re: Many Packages: UPS Pickup

Seems better at local UPS hub from current readings
