Goodwill Outlet?

What is the deal? I guess in most regions there is one GoodWill outlet. Rather than buy items individually you pay by the pound? Supposedly you should bring gloves and everything else you need to dig through stuff to get in the game at these places? Any experience or reviews would be awesome.

We have several around me.

I dont mess with it because it is mainly clothing that did not sell and they toss items into a bin and you like a crazy person will have to fight to get to the items you want.

Sold by the pound like rags.

I watched many times people fighting like nuts over a bin of clothing.

Not for me, but it is like watching a bunch of animals with little food to share.

No collectibles or other items are usually sold like this.

Goodwill in my region is not like that by the bin. They separate and hang up shirts individually. You have to go through and filter through the shirts with your fingers looking for identifying items that are worth money. Then investigate the shirt more carefully to ensure its in selling condition. Thats how money has been generated over here.

I find that savers stores have much higher quality items for +/- $2.00 goodwill.

99 cent store if you have one around you or the dollar tree, many stores like the ones i mentioned around. I always make sure black friday im ready to purchase 10 20 30 items at once of the same thing. Just always be on the look out for sales and such. Little Items seems to sell alot for me. I keep my items price ranged from $5.00-$50.00 $50 being the max.

There are some videos of guys hitting the Savers stores and finding some darn good antiques and collectibles etc.

One showed one getting a 12 person brand new tent for 29.99 at a savers. I believe it was Coleman.

Savers are mainly located where? Dont think I have ever seen one in person.

I've been to one goodwill outlet when I was traveling, we don't have them around here. they had bins of target merchandise to buy by the pound, it was all nwt but it was stuff that hadn't sold on final clearance so it was either really ugly or really unpopular sizes like XXS and such. I wouldn't recommend it for ebay, I don't think it would move, unless you just needed some stuff to get a new account going. If you do yard sales it might turn a profit for you.

Re: Goodwill Outlet?

You would be surprised. Especially for men's clothing. It all depends on what you are selling. But Big and Tall sizes often times sell much faster than normal people sizes. Some of the clothing I sell 5XL and 6XL are the first to sell out and I charge more for those sizes than all the other ones because they go so fast.

Also big size shoes. Like sizes bigger than 13 sell fast too. I guess because people have a hard time finding them.

I have made a ton of money buying knicks knacks, old radios, vintage toys and even antique furniture at good will stores.

Found 2 pieces this morning at a local Goodwill after hitting the community yard sales that will net me some very good money.

Do not pass on other items, always make a sweep of the place before leaving.

I once found an oak 5 piece dinette set for 199.99. Flipped it on CL for 600.00.

I'm not joking. I can barely send a txt message. All these tablets and iphones and stuff are beyond me. I am an old school pc guy. Still use Aol Instant Messenger with a few people. Really need to get up to date.
