Royal Mail PPI postage labels

Was wondering if anyone here uses Royal Mail ppi for shipping, and how does it work? I've seen you can buy rolls of the ppi labels from eBay but what do you then do with them apart from stick them on your parcel, how is the postage paid to Royal Mail?

Would be greatful if someone could explain it abit to us as I've googles it but not much info out there, basically I sell a high volume of low value items per month all sent large letter with 69p stamp on them and was wondering if using ppi could save me abit on postage, thanks

You apply for a Credit Account first

In a nutshell

- Need an account with Royal Mail.

- You take items with your personal PPI labels on them to post office after filling in relevant paperwork.

- You get bills for total postage costs at the end of the month.

Royal mail are the best guys to speak to about it.

PPI > Franking > Stamps = Drop And Go IMO

yeh i know but dont want to apply for one yet until i understand how it works and if it will be worth my while,

i understand i can get them printed for me from ebay or ppi.labels.com with my ppi number and return address on them and just stick them on package like i would with a stamp but how do i correctly pay royal mail?

They send you a bill / you see your bill online and you pay it like you would any other credit account, using either a debit card or credit card.

Tend to be a little bit more expensive than franking for the postage, but overall work out a lot cheaper as you don't pay the franking rental costs or the prices for the extortionate ink or the loading fees to put money onto the franking machine. Franking machines are also just a pain to use.

yeh i seen the prices of the ink and stuff for franking and it put me off right away, maybe PPI is the way forward then, any idea if its easy enough to claim for lost items having a PPI account,

i send all my orders without tracking and have quite a few buyers claiming they've not received there order, spoke with the post office about it and usual method when using stamps is they gave me some sheets of paper where i write buyers name, address, postcode, and first or second class on it but as i sell so many a month ive never bothered as it would take too much of my time.

PPI does not offer compensation on all postage. You will have to talk to Royal Mail about which does and does not get it.

Never used the compensation myself for anything not send tracked.
