Where to get NEW w/o box retail ink cartridges?
 

I see people selling ink cartridges and toner that is brand new but without the retail boxes all over eBay. I was thinking of starting a local shop specializing in discount items like that to businesses. Anyone have any clue of any sources? Ive looked around but so far I can't find anything useful. Any help much appreciated!

They have no box because they are sto.len.

You cannot just call up an ink company and distribute this stuff.

LOL!.. That's a pretty bold statement. :)

Although possibly true from some sellers, I rarely sell mine with the box either.

A few years ago I had a customer complain that I sold him a used cartridge in a sealed box, and from that day on, I have been removing them from the box.

PLUS: It saves a little on shipping too. (win-win)

I buy all my ink from Ebay, their not retail ink so they don't come with retail boxes.

Very true. I assumed OP meant originals. If not selling originals, then getting aftermarket should be fine.

Majority of people won't pay brand name prices anyway unless its for professional printing.

Buying in compatibles is a good market although competitive

These guys must be literally hijacking trucks then.. they sell heavy volume. Is there a way to buy them at a discount new then? So far the ONLY good deals Ive found are from Alibaba with "new" and compatible brands (don't want to mess with these). I have a ton of reservations about buying anything from here.

Might be authorized refurbishers?

May be benefiting from all of those 'recycled' empty cartridges that people send them.

I would have to say the vast majority are not stolen but imported.

Are they using the words OEM? If not they are imports most likely.

Yea Im starting to think maybe they're f@kes/imported like you mentioned. I saw similar ones for sale on alibaba. They do have excellent feedback and very few dissatisfied customers.

I guess they could be refills. But they have them listed as "brand new" with out retail packaging ("new other" in eBay words)

Imports does not necessarily mean ⊗⊗⊗⊗.

I know nothing about ink cartridges, but I do know that you can take your empty cartridge down to an office store and get them filled. Maybe they are selling the refilled ones? idk

Problem is that many companies which manufacture printers state that using these types of inks might void warranty.

Here in Australia, a set of inks for some printers can cost more than a brand new printer

Yes, any of those refurbs or remanufactured ones do destroy printers over time, especially expensive ones.

Just installed a new one last week for an office who destroyed their $600 printer using sh*tty aftermarket garbage just to save a few dollars.

Yup, this is exactly what happens. Broken cartridge and tray, along with ink all over the gears. Top quality garbage. The problem is that it doesn't just happen instantly, so people assume these cheapo cartridges are ok.

With the new 180 day PP case policy, selling these things could be a lot more risky now.

OEM isnt ⊗⊗⊗⊗ you can buy oem almost anything and it could have been made in the same factory and the non oem

Inks could be expired past the sell by date on the box. Sold only in the plastic seal so you can't tell the difference. Usually works anyways.
