I go there often for new products. The fees are high for sellers there, so I usually contact sellers and ask them to contact me via whatsapp to arrange a direct purchase.

It has been awhile since we have had a good old mudslinging dhgate thread :d

I have used them and still use them from time to time. I only had 1 issue where a seller sent me something other than what they had in their photo. I didn't appreciate how the seller played dumb like they didn't know what they had done, which really p'd me off.

I was able to get half my money back through dhgate dispute and still was able to sell the items with no issues so it worked out.

I try to establish a relationship with suppliers directly and take it off those wholesaler sites. Sometimes you have suppliers just fall off the earth and are never heard from again. I worry that nothing bad has happened.

I wish they would at least respond to say that they are no longer supplying and that they are still alive.

I think they get their accounts closed just like people on here lose eBay accounts, lol. A lot of the factories/trade companies that sell on their use their own version of "stealth" by having lots of employees create selling accounts, and making them all appear to be different stores. I once had orders of 2 similar products that I bought from 2 different sellers arrive in the same package.

I totally agree with establishing a business relationship with them outside of the website. You can learn a lot about how "legit" a supplier is just by talking to them for 5 minutes in real time. Plus, dealing with the same person over time = discounts and preferential treatment.

I have ordered quite a bit of stuff on there mostly electronics. I have received good and bad stuff from there bad quality. They simply always refuse to give you your money back till you open a case against them. Make sure the quality and supplier is good before doing a transaction outside of DHGate

PM me if you have any questions

They are very similar to Aliexpress however, I always review the store and other's comments before I buy just to see what others are experiencing. I found if you develop a relationship with Aliexpress, you get much better pricing the the same thing.

Yeah, I'd say you're safe. Just be careful because you definitely get what you pay for. It seems like everything I've ever bought comes in at least 3 different "qualities". "Authentic", "Original", "Top Quality", are all terms they use to describe the "grade" of what you are buying, but those terms do not mean what they mean in the USA.

By no means does "authentic" on dhgate mean you are buying the real thing, lol.

Read the seller's feedback and have a conversation with them before you place a huge order. I think you'll do fine..

Used DHGATE many times, when purchasing you must research the item make sure its genuine, contact the seller speak to them, read their feedback, if you want to buy bulk ask seller if you can buy a sample first, many allow this some don't but worth asking!, prob spent 10.000 quid on there never had a problem, fingers crossed it stays that way.

Re: Anyone used dhgate?

I have never been on the site but I do a lot of business in china. I always request 50-100 samples before placing a decent order first.

A factory that wants my business will easily do this no costs to me. A third party seller can not afford to do this. I personally do not deal with small sellers because I need real factory pricing. The same price or lower than the people on places like alliexpress.

If you are buying small quantity of an existing stock, then these places are good. Just dont expect to buy name brand items and it be that lol

A good alternative to aliexpress but not as good.. though im guessing that may depend on your area of sales.

AliEx Sucks IMO. I'm guessing fees for sellers on AliEx are even higher than DHgate because anything on AliEx can be found for cheaper on DHgate.

Yea, there's a tab that says stock in the US, but there wasn't anything that looked interesting. I'm wondering now is there like a search function that returns only US sellers. Can't seem to find it, I guess that it means that most of the sellers are in China, if you put that search requirement on, you will only get maybe half a page.

aking 04-02-2016 11:14 PM

Re: Anyone used dhgate?

yea it would be nice to source here in the US. I'm surprised a lot of sellers dont try to setup shop in a warehouse here somewhere so they can supply items faster and receive payment faster.

GreenBean 04-03-2016 06:14 PM

Re: Anyone used dhgate?

Costs of being on the ground in the USA preclude that, imo.

newjerseymax 04-06-2016 10:12 PM

Re: Anyone used dhgate?

Just the cost of warehouse would increase the cost 10 fold.... Not to mention labor costs...

This is why you see those items in the USA at much higher prices and mostly non interesting things...

Although you maybe need to go different route. There are many things that can be found to in the USA not available elsewhere. The difference is that you cant be joe shmoe and just buy it. US suppliers you will need all your licenses and business information set up and legit. Then you can source from the USA..... Otherwise you will always sell that china junk....
