| luverlyjuberly | 03-26-2016 04:14 PM | Aliexpress - empty stores A couple of Aliexpress stores i order from no longer have any stock listed but their Store Front page still exists. Is this normal? Do some stores only list at certain times of the year - or is there a Chinese holiday at the moment?
Any replies much appreciated. |
| GreenBean | 03-26-2016 05:25 PM | Re: Aliexpress - empty stores Next major holiday of importance is Quingming. This is a 3 day holiday between 3-5 April.
Not aware of closing for Easter either. |
| Klemantina | 03-26-2016 06:35 PM | Re: Aliexpress - empty stores They got the new app bs going on and once in a while they have cake reviews and other things related to the balance sheet so there is small issues there right now, not sure if things will get better or worse. |
| pegasus | 03-27-2016 09:45 AM | Re: Aliexpress - empty stores One of the main reason is because Aliexpress is introducing a new yearly fee for all their sellers. I think it's around 5000rmb per year and also the platform is becoming strict on certain product category. |
| luverlyjuberly | 03-27-2016 02:29 PM | Re: Aliexpress - empty stores I messaged one shop and they told me they were opening a new shops soon - i could'nt work out why as the old shop was still open - it just had no stock listed.
Doees this suggest they have/had more than one shop? And would have to pay 5000rmb for each shop?
Whatever, I can't find what I was purchasing anywhere else on Aliexpess - so its a little frustrating.
What I was purchasing was harmless not anything dodgy or peculiar. |

A lot of sellers will be leaving Aliexpress in the next 6 months due to new restrictions coming in. I'm not sure on the details, since I don't really buy from that platform anymore. However, some of my old friends that are sellers on there said it's becoming hard for them to use the platform to sell. Yes I think they would have to pay 5000rmb per store. What are you looking for? |

| 997turbo | 03-28-2016 02:00 PM | Re: Aliexpress - empty stores as an Aliexpress seller I can tell you it might because of the 5000rmb yearly fee. About 30% seller can not afford it so they stopped the business.
also note that from AUG this year, they will further require all Chinese sellers have an business account to sell, whichs required a Chinese company trading licence to do so. In china that licence need 100000 RMB deposit for 1 year to get. not a easy job for small sellers, so expect half amount shops closing down and selling price raising this summer |

a) Less scammers
b) More customers
c) Sellers will move to other alternatives
d) Big retailers will become even more rich
Looks like things will become even harder for poor people |

Personally if the price does increase it's better for the bigger resellers, since the bottom line sellers don't have the purchasing power. However, they can still hustle their way to get the price they want if they know what they are doing. Aliexpress is consider expense anyways in the wholesale game, because 80% of the sellers on there are middleman themselves. To get the best price you must go to the source of the product, I see this game as a onion you have to go through all the layers to get the best price lol. |

I remember the days when they use to sell ⊗⊗⊗⊗ brand names openly on the platforms without getting into trouble. However, the Alibaba group knows that in order for the brand to grow internationally they must clean up the bottom line and introduce new regulations to meet with international selling standards. I think there is still many places small sellers/resellers can still make money, will it get harder "YES" for those who can't adapt to change, and "NO" for those that can identify major changes at the early stages and move with it. |
| teedon | 04-04-2016 11:01 AM | Re: Aliexpress - empty stores This is normal.Aliexpress is free of charge at the beginning ,slowly when it become famous and then it will back to business mode.
As you known, alibaba have to make money from this project finally. So that they donot care to kick out some sellers who not afford to pay that fee,and they already have a large number of power sellers who will keep open the show there.
Taobao is the example going in this way. |
| newjerseymax | 04-06-2016 10:03 PM | Re: Aliexpress - empty stores Since they go on stock exchange they must follow many rules now. I cant believe a site that sold mostly copies grown so big that it can be legitimate now.... crazy! | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 06:44 PM. | |
