I just logged into an account with the wrong IP. What should I do?
 

I just logged into an account that is about a year old but did so from an IP address that is linked to an account that is about 3 weeks old. I tried to list an item from this account but was told to verify my identity first by phone or email due to it being a new computer. That's when I checked the IP address and saw that it was the wrong one. What should I do now? Should I just pretend like it never happened or should I burn the 1-week old account or just it's IP or what? :noidea::violin::noidea: Neither account is banned or doing anything wrong but I don't want them linked; especially with all different info aside from that IP.

1st. Sit down and pour yourself the strongest alcohol you have
2nd. Relax
3rd. Your probably fine, if it was a 1 time deal you will be fine.

If it helps, I've done that once before too. I just quickly logged out. It did not affect my account.

It happens to everyone at some point or another, probably nothing will happen, be more careful in the future and be sure to keep your accounts clean and trouble free. :)

you will be immediately linked while you are opening a new account with old ip. in your case, accounts can be still linked due to identical ip if someone diggs deeper. i would advise just to leave alone the new account for a while and do not do anything that may raise suspicion. you should be ok :)

What's your 1 year old account worth to you?

If it's worth anything meaningful then abandon the 3 week old account that's now linked. A suspension on the new account will likely result in a problem with your old one.

if old account is still active, there should not be problems since ebay allows multiple accounts under specific circumstances. i think all responses here were upon assumption that old account was suspended.

I would say exactly the same except smoke a spliff and don't worry about it there in nothing probably to worry about and we have all done it. Me several times ,I'm old. LOL Oh yeah and seriously, pray!
