My 5th Christmas stealth on eB and views & sales down

This is my 5th season selling stealth on eb. Last year was awful because of the Cassini thing but things picked up on mother's day and been increasing until a few weeks ago I noticed my views and sales are all down approx. 30%. In the prior years sales always have steadily shown an increase after Labor day. My product is the same and not seasonal and up until the search engine thing was pretty steady so me of course I notice trends that are supported by the numbers. What are others experiencing?

I myself have experienced a slight dip in the last month or so but nothing major.
This is the pattern Ive seen for my own accounts though and from my own personal experience it will start picking up again at the beginning of November.

Same with me!

I only have 60 products for sale on my ebay store and 2,000 on Bonanza, very little sales lately

Re: My 5th Christmas stealth on eB and views & sales down

i wish bonanza become more popular among buyers and free sellers from ebay's tyranny. i hate amazon. other platforms like ioffer etc sell counterfeit mostly and openly and i am just stunned how they are getting away from authorities' radar with their illegal operations. today just wanted to have a peek on ioffer and saw zillions of counterfeit products selling from china. unbelievable.

Re: My 5th Christmas stealth on eB and views & sales down

My eBay sales have picked up SLIGHTLY, this past month, however Amazon sales have really taken a hit. (different items)

Amazon sellers are complaing of the same.

I think its just a slow period, we just need to hang in there. We all know when it hits, it hits! its almost here.

And rauken.com, blah. They should be paying sellers to sell on their platform!

Same thing here. Abnormally slow for this time of year.

I am betting the election has a whole lot to do with not only sales but traffic is down. I feel people are very uncertain & holding on to their cash. I wonder which way the big box sellers are hoping it goes for them not to have disastrous seasonal results? PLEASE this is NOT political let's keep it that way again PLEASE! LOL

Thanks so much, that's awesome. I love this so much better than oh, " I heard so and so." Not my imagination but as witnessed.

Ebay.co.uk Traffic, Demographics and Competitors - Alexa

Ebay.ca Traffic, Demographics and Competitors - Alexa

Ebay.ie Traffic, Demographics and Competitors - Alexa

The Irish site is rallying. Probably due to UK users sick of the glitches lol

And the Canadian site is on its way back up it seems.

I personally think the amount of technical glitches are responsible for the reduced visitors.

There is nothing more likely to turn people away.

Yup noting like not finding something except on ebay than taking long time to buy as keep hitting glitches. I only go to ebay if can find no where else. I do not go to Amazon much as too much cheap garbage from China. Its half price but breaks first use where real thing last many years. So real thing actually cheaper in long run. I go there only to buy what been buying for many years as know it good every thing else buy at much harder to use site but get from USA like Walmart or Best Buy. Hate both sites but much easier than having to search from all junk on Amazon. I avoid actual best buy as local manager must be high school drop out based how run store. Each yearly visit store worse than last. game section used be good but now is a joke. Same on movie selection now mostly computers or cell phones. No point complaining as they just as bad as walmart on fixing. Took me 3 years of weekly complaints get walmart buy more baskets 3-6 months later all gone as they bought 10% of baskets other retailers put and they much bigger store. There loss I limited in what I can carry with only one working arm and no way could I use buggy. So my visits very cheap whereas would spend 10-20 times more if had basket. I got my own bought online but refuse bring it as they try stealing it from me. No clue why walmart uses blue baskets and mine is black.

Interesting.. Top Sites in United States - Alexa

Amazon is #4
eBay #9

That said Alexa isn't very accurate.. it's more of a wild guess based on how they gather information.

Who uses there toolbar so its a biased report? Now if they paid you to use it might get more accurate. Funny Yahoo does better than Ebay and PayPal though. I hate Yahoo its a computer killer I used go there every few minutes get my news but all ads now go to Facebook get my news. Facebook bad but Yahoo worse. I used Yahoo Mail since 1997 but just might have to stop that once get around wasting time switch everything to something better. There choice not mine if wanted use Gmail wound no clue why they force us when 2 decades ago we joined them not for them to copy Google. I search with Bing as I hate Google more than hate Microsoft.

I read this earlier tonight and even though I said I was taking the entire month of October off I just had to list something to show you people nothing is slow accept your researching...take a look at the time it was listed and the $4000.00+ that was made a little over a hour later. I ended the listing otherwise it would be well over $10,000 by now and I am on vacation. Salmon will be biting in a hour.

Re: My 5th Christmas stealth on eB and views & sales down

I think it is multiple factors as to why sellers may be facing a slow down. To be honest these are my worst sales since I started in late 04 early 2005.

On the bright side I have spent a ton of time redoing my eBay listings and getting them so they view better on eBay Moblie. Also doing a bit more research into Keyword optimization and how Cassini tends to rank products. For my main account I also went in and revamped my store and actually did a re-branding. Worked on the store keywords for categories and all that stuff.

My sales have been a little better the past few days but Friday tends to be more sales other days so I can't say it is a result of what I have done.

Jackery congrats on your success. Your one sales item or channel does not represent eBay as a whole. Nor does mine. I am happy to hear you are killing it. Maybe you wish to share exactly what you are selling so we can all jump on the bandwagon!!!!! And then have a super quick race to bottom for that marketplace.

Inelastic product is the way to go. However, I don't see those going for over $300.

I'm down 38% from last month, which is insanity. I have been watching statistics for years and never had a decline from September to October. Now down 38%! Plus down 50% from last year and I have 4x more inventory.

This weekend I got a slight uptick in sales because I did some advertising and upped my social media presence. Also, I pay someone to do my social media work which has added a boost.

Someone mentioned Bonanza and it works only if you opt into all the traffic. I do about 10-15% of number of sales as ebay, however fees are cheaper and I get more margin so it helps.

My expertise is not so good for Amazon, so I'm sourcing for a good distributor and have some ideas.

Just got started with Walmart so Cant say yet how that's gonna go...

Feeling the pain my friend. In my about 12 years of eBay. This is about as bad as it has been. Plus Amazon keeps handing out brand restrictions so it like a double whammy.

Sales way are the same. slow but a few good days. It will pick up. We be rolling again. Big problem. everybody is now a reseller, even grandma, grandpa....crazy. The good old days, you had to figure this stuff out yourself, and less people selling!!!

Yeah ok, I believe you. My first thought was gopro's until I saw the size comments. What else comes in a "size 8.5" and a "size 9 mens and receipt if possible", and is also profitable enough to make a seller arrogant?

I don't care either which way. If you're that ballsy you ought to look into goophones, lol. I'd be weary of the 230 feedback guy. Looks like he realized you have an auto accept price and emptied out his PP.

Had a proportional slowdown in September. It seems things are slowly easing back up like they should, and they are erasing the loses almost to the percentage point. Although, I do not deal in high value items. More in the <100 dollar range.

lol I sell autoparts and my sales are consistant everyday... but you need a 2000ft warehouse with 5000 parts minimum to stay a float... im parting out 5 cars as we speak chop shops baby always make it...

I also sell other things priced exactly the same as jackerys.... but better not say

Dude asked for a size 9 mens, so that rules out dresses. The only things I know of which have different sizing for men and women and also come in half sizes are hats and shoes. Hats just aren't that profitable...

It could be rings, made with some of that fools gold, lol. Shoes seem more plausible though.
