Can I add a random tracking number? (different zip code)?

I just sold an e delivery item. Can I just add one of a random tracking number for Ebays tracking metrics? Zip codes will be different of course.

It's not going to make any difference unless the tracking number is validated (scanned).

That's not a good idea. If you enter it in ebay your risking getting your paypal getting limited. it doesn't get limited every time but its a risk. believe me I know.. Ive tried it.. best bet it to click "Marked as Shipped" & Wait

The short answer - no you cannot and doing so risks your accounts.

just to confirm, it would be a legit tracking number, from one of my Amazon shipments.

Not a good idea? I wont do it then.

The closest thing that would work would be sending a thank you letter via USPS first class or whatever the cheapest service with tracking is for you. But if you are only selling ~$5 items it probably wouldn't be worth it.
