Can't Cancel Order Because Refund Failed?
 

I ordered an unlocked phone. It wasn't unlocked, I returned it. Seller refunded me. Refund showed on paypal. I ordered another phone. I got an email from ebay today saying

" We're sorry that we couldn't cancel your order because the refund to your paypal account failed. Please contact the seller"

I checked my paypal account. My balance is still positive. And I don't see anything indicating the refund failed. Does anyone have experience with this situation?

no not happened to me, but this is paypals problem in the end if you dispute it or do a chargeback....

the seller obviously initiated a refund, but maybe it failed for whatever reason.....not sure why paypal is passing this issue on to you......it is probably an automated paypal message, and they would resolve if you contacted them....

If you are sure you actually got the refund, then just leave it.

If you didnt get it, then maybe contact seller first and allow a couple of days...

you will be able to get your money back I think.

I have some limited experience with something like this. Last week a buyer wanted to cancel an order and I got a similar error message because the buyer had paid for his order with a gift card. It was a major hassle but I was finally able to issue a refund a week later, after the buyer left negative feedback saying "SELLER OWES REFUND BUT WON'T SEND."
