Why are do we have scammers in this world?

That is a question much to complicated to answer for this forum. It is more on the lines of world politics, morals, ethics and so on.

All depends on market, how hot the item is, the price, the interest...so many factors.

You might in a rough market.

Scammers and fraudsters are a part of this business unfortunately.
Things become much tougher when you deal with someone who seems reliable with plenty of feedback that you would never suspect.
but even in those cases as long as you have proof of shipment and delivery in most cases youre covered by paypal against such fraud.

There are unfortunately hackers, so many different reasons, some hack to get back at companies for political agendas etc. - big conglomorates just have to deal with that fact.

As general internet users, its incumbent that *we* do our part. Speaking directly from an eBay/PayPal perspective:
  1. Don't login to these sites when you've been redirected. Keep an eye on the URL bar above. If you have a lot of experience you will notice a phishing site very easily.
  2. Use difficult passwords that aren't easily cracked by hackers.
  3. Turn on two tier authentication on ebay and paypal - this has by far got to be the best way to deter hackers IMO, whilst not impossible to crack, for an average hacker I doubt they'd be bothered to go the extra mile to get into an ebay account.
Just want to clarify though as some people do PM me about this, the Aspkin Marketplace is operated by only trustworthy sellers, and only offers genuine accounts and services i.e. not hacked/stolen.

P.S. post was more of a tangent on how not to get hacked.
