removing bank account from limited paypal
 

can i remove a bank account linked to a limited paypal!? what gives? i tried and this came out:

We are not able to process your request. Please try again later.

There shouldn't be a problem removing my bank account! I need to re-use it for my new paypal!

Trying to use a bank account that you have already used with PayPal before is just going to make PayPals job linking you very very easy

You really are going to need a new bank account.

I have done so in the past with NO problem. Just because you say it doesn't mean that it's true.

You can't just OPEN bank accounts all willy nilly.

A few years ago it was possible.

These days every time I have seen anyone manage do it they have gotten limited a few days later.

Nothing wrong with opening a new bank account now and then.

Honestly that's not credible I've done it recently with no problems. Again just because you're SPECULATING that it can't be done, doesn't mean it can't.

You have no idea what the other person whom which you said "did it" was really "doing" before they got limited..

I use safe practices and got limited for other reasons. I did this I would say about twice this year with no problems whatsoever.

Should I just wait a couple of days and try again, do you think it would work then? I haven't seen anyone with this issue..

Your confusing speculation with experience.

I have tried it a fair number of times myself and the PayPal does get limited a few days later. Maybe the US is very very different to the UK but I would be surprised

I have also talked to people who have more recently than I tried it and they have had the same results.

If you have done it many times in the past without issues though surely you already know how to remove the bank account as you must have done it in the past? There was a thread only a few days ago asking the same thing as yourself who worked out how to get their bank account removed.

James you had said earlier"anyone". I figured you were speculating. That's really strange I haven't had those experiences. I will take into account for what it's worth --

My question WAS -- can I remove my bank account while the PayPal is limited.

Phone them and ask PayPal to remove it.

Have you given that a blast?

Sometimes this will work. Sometimes it wont

part of the limitation is usually that you cant remove any bank or cards

Read the "what you cant do" section on your resolution center. There will be a BIG RED X next to "remove bank account" and "remove credit cards"

James, I did think about calling. I would have to come up with a way to make and ID for this individual... sigh.

well confirmed this is what happened and my thoughts on it:

logged on today 4 days later, to see if I can remove bank account, --negative stil can't remove it.

@wtfebay no where does it state that the bank account can not be logged into.

@JamesNorth101 I will attempt to call sometime Friday. Thanks for the advice! :D

maybe after the 180 days or whatever i will be able to remove it.

i'm under the impression that AS LONG as the bank is REMOVED you can re use it on another account with out any real big problems.

Note: Either way please everyone follow proper guidelines and don't add a bank account until you are sure that your account is good standing and it has passed the aspkin ebay stealth process.

As another experienced member of these forums I assure you - the bank account CANNOT be removed and even if you were able to remove it and then added it to a new paypal account it will only serve to link the two accounts. Paypal maintains the info on all accounts indefinitely.
Just open a new bank account. As opposed to what you said opening bank accounts actually is pretty 'willy nilly' as long as you do so in a reasonable way. I myself have accounts with 6 different banks and under each one of those I have 5-6 accounts. Do the math - it adds up real fast.

When you're a junior member coming here to ask for (free) advice from those who earned their experience from study, practice, trial and error and research, you're obligated to (at the very least) be nice when they take the time to share their experience with you. When both an executive and a moderator (two members who are obviously very experienced) tell you it can't be done, EVEN IF IT CAN in your experience, clearly there are disadvantages, do yourself a favor and take the advice of those more experienced.

If your pp is limited, part of the list of limitations is that you cannot remove your bank account. Unless you get reinstated, that bank account is on there for good. And if they are going to collect money from you at some point for a return or fees, they may try to pull it from that account at some point. So be prepared for that.

Either way, having access to this forum and the advice of those more experienced is priceless, so I suggest if for some reason you're going to disagree with advice you're given (that you came here and asked for) to do it respectfully. Nobody deserves anything, this is all gravy.

This isn't North Korea....Yeah you can, I have opened and closed Chase Checking Accounts and yet to have a problem.

1st. If your PayPal is limited, it ain't going to let you remove the stupid bank account.

2nd. Yes, It "IS" possible to reuse a bank account as long as you wait 30 days or so but why? we don't live in a Communist Country...yet.

3rd. Open a new damn bank account, FFS.
