How to get customers to leave feedback??
 

I've been having trouble getting feedback on my stealth account which has been operating for 1 year now. I've made about 60 sales, but only 19 people have left feedback.

I started sending out a print out on A4 with all sales (last 30 odd) asking for feedback...etc. Out of them 30 only 1 left feedback. My last sale was 1 week ago.

What is wrong with people on ebay these days?.

My 1 year old account still stands at a whooping 24 feedbacks. And 5 of those are from buying. So i've received 19 feedbacks in total from 60 ish sales.

That does sound about right to me. Usually only 1/3 of people leave feedback

You can send a message through eBay and that tends to prompt another 1/4 of people who had not left feedback to leave feedback

A simple message to buyers Thanking them for their business and wishing them Happy Holidays and ask them to take a quick moment and return feedback as its important for the Holiday Season. Works wonders!

It depends on the items and listings. I find the more unique items I sell with individual pictures etc I get more feedback. The more generic with stock photos, etc the less. Also Auctions I tend to get more feedback on.

It just depends. Keep selling and you are bound to get more. I don't message buyers asking anymore. One time I had someone flip out on me over like a $10 USD item. So I just leave it be.

Feedback rates for me are around 25-30%. More and more people are choosing not to leave feedback these days.

It doesnt bother me as I never leave feedback as a buyer.

The only time I really want feedback is when I sell on a new account and I'm trying to gain that first 10 feedback.

A small leaflet with a nice sentence thanking the customer for his purchase works for me.

Doesn't work for me, in fact it has the complete opposite effect. Which i find interesting.

I find that people which exchanged a few messages with me via inbox, tend to leave feedback about 50% of the time. Other even less then 10% of the time.

Indeed very hard to build up feedback these days!

I was a long time seller I made about 20K transactions over a 16 year period and just under 5K in a feedback score. I know the few times I bought off eBay I found it annoying that there were sellers (and buyers) begging for feedback.
getting 50% feedback is really really good.

EB counts no feedback as 100% positive, 4 stars all around, etc. Why ask for something that might be less than perfect?
