Returns Question

I had someone request a return and wanted me to pay shipping because they said there is a hole in the shirt I sold... which there definitely wasn't. Can I ask them to upload a photo of the supposed damage?

Re: Returns Question

That's what I do anytime someone claims their item is damaged. Why would I pay for postage without any proof?

Because you are required to?

So you say no to the customer, the customer opens a return request for not as described, you ignore the request still until eBay intervenes and tells you that you must accept the return and pay for return shipping anyway.

Why not save yourself the headache, and issue the return label, accept the return and live to fight another day?

While that is all correct it is still always a good idea to still ask for proof of the damage

Re: Returns Question

There are too many scammers in my category for me to just blindly accept every return request AND pay for postage. I don't send out any defective merchandise so there's never a reason for me to be REQUIRED to pay for return postage. I usually message the buyer back with our return address.

If it's a case where we've obviously made a mistake and sent the wrong item, then I'll pay for postage no problem.

I don't ever ignore return requests, by the way. And I've never had to get Ebay involved on a case.

It's easy enough to create a hole to take a picture of. Why ask them to damage your product?

Either way it's coming back and you're going to pay for it, just pay for the label and move on.

You make money selling stuff not disputing stupid claims you can't win anyway.
