Most of the US originated stuff, I manufacture myself. In general I have found some useful sources by networking with other sellers and friendly competitors. But it general stay far away from people who market themselves as dropshippers. Those are the suppliers that you will never make serious money with.

Sourcing is the most fun part of my duties and also the most frustrating.

All of these guys are giving you great advice. Another tip I could give you with China is to never give up price shopping. There is ALWAYS someone cheaper. They market up just like we do in our markets. Remember the difference in currency rates. Put your search for new products as an essential task of your business. I like to put about 20 percent of my business time in observing markets and new products. It keeps you ahead of the curve and cost efficient to the items you already have. Good luck!

I agree that you can always find cheaper in China. However, much is to be said about supplier that is organized, has good shipper (if not your own), reliable and quality of product is exceptional.

Sometimes the cheapest leads to more problems. I learned this pretty quick.

Completely agree with you. I have had my share of shipping problems and quality control.
