Ebay fees taken from empty VBA has somehow cleared???
 

I had no money in my PayPal account, Ebay took there fee's that I owed them. They took the money from a VBA which I used for verification, I was expecting the money to bounce and then have my PayPal in question but instead it has gone through? Now comes up payment is cleared.
How is this possible when the VBA was for verification only and could not of have funds in it?.

it cleared because Paypal fronted the money.. paypal will be back another day to charge you. if no money can be transferred from that bank account they will automatically remove it and possible leave your paypal account in the RED

It's possible your VBA had funds in it.

Or perhaps the ACH transaction hasn't been processed/rejected yet by whatever bank your VBA is at. How long ago did Ebay try pulling out the fees?

Only a temporary clearance.(if there were in fact no funds on the VBA).

Watch out for more activity reversing everything and the bank possibly adding fees.

They took the payment 6 days ago and no action has been taken. The VBA was purchased from a vendor here as a verification only so no funds could have been there.

Am I safe to sell on the account? I don;t want to sell something on there and suddenly they decide to take action against me. I don't mind them taking the fee's another day it was only small amount.

I wouldnt count on it to the point of selling on it. Not yet.
Theres a very good chance the payment will be reversed and then your paypal account will be in the red AND unverified in status.

@Chucky, 6 days is not a long period at all for updating the system. Make sure you have a valid VCC on it - the bank will likely come up as invalid.

payment will reverse and vba will be deleted automatically from your pp acct

OP probably could still list until the fee-being-paid status comes back as a fail and flag gets triggered that Payment is due (usually some sort of CAPRE e-mail comes saying the account fees are overdue)...then eb gets "suspended" until fees are paid.

Hopefully PP account wont be limited because of the failure.

I would at least sell enough to cover the unpaid eBay fees..

Ok thanks for the advice, i have a valid vcc on there i am going to sell enough to pay ebay fees and wait it out.

So, you were selling on this account, and the Paypal only has a VBA and VCC?

Wouldn't that mean you've never withdrawn money so you should be able to pay your fees?

Or I guess you could have been shuffling money between accounts...

Headed for trouble, as so many have said, they'll be looking for the money on every front, PP, EB, the VBA.

You're going to have to attach a real bank account to get the PP straightened out.

I know it sounds crazy, but I used to have a similar situation 1-2 months ago. One of my stealth (about 3 yo) had no money in there and mother****** opened dispute on paypal for ~$10 which became "on hold". I issued him a refund but accidently didn"t notice and pressed for e-check with VBA.
OR
I issued him to original payment method (which is more likely due to the way pp works) and than covering negative account balance with VBA (instead of cc).
Do not recall exactly which of these 2 cases happened BUT do remember FOR SURE:
1) it was paid with VBA (which has been attached more than 3y ago)
2) about 1-2 months passed since then and:
-VBA has never been removed
-never had any problems with pp
-never had anything strange - it has cleared like a regular payment on e-check in 3-4 days
