So i have this buyer that claims he went to the post to pick up the item and it wasn't there.
Tracking shows it's at his post office.

How many days will usps keep the package before returning it to me?

from my experience, some states keep it 15 days, and some others 30 days, and also i can see on usps tracking website ift the package is returned

some people don't open their mailbox, but some trusted customers told me they never had the notice from usps in their mailbox
It is my main return reason ...

Thanks but the buyer says he went to the post and package wasn't there so i assume he's trying to scam me.

Check with buyer politely which post office he attended to make sure he has the address correct...

do you have tracking for your package ?
if yes, it should have information on the city and the state, if it worth a call to usps , do it
when the satuts says " notice left" it state the exact location of the post office
if you have a valid return address on your package , they will send it back to you, so just tell your customer you will reship it when you receive it.. not sure it's the right advice , but that's what i do
But maybe everything I say is useless, because it is not a shipment to usa , right ?

You need to make sure yourself that the package is really there, ready for pickup....If you contact the Post Office where the package is located and they tell you it is there, you need to ask the post office to give the customer a notice for pickup.

if post office lost it calling the post master does wonders .. I had maybe 10 packages sit in sac. California for almost 2 weeks got the run around when calling . called the post master there bam next day was update dispatched ..just saying lots of time the post office dont want to help at ALL

Every time I call the post office they never pick up. Good luck
