95% account or start over

Im debating wheter to use a pre 11/07 account that has 95% feedback or wheter to start completly over..In yuo guys experince which wuld a buyer trust more?(I left an appropriate reply to the neg)

I would trust a seller a lot more with 95% feedback and an almost 2 year old account vs. A brand new account.

See if there was someone that forgot to leave you positive and email them to do so. It will help a little, but I'd take my time to improve this score.... Just make sure you take precautions and no more negatives...

ebaykilla 03-30-2009 08:00 AM

feedback is overrated....the new system pretty made feedback obsolete. i sell just fine with zero as if I am a seasoned vet with all the "pretty stars".

Cachufleta 03-30-2009 09:00 AM

ebaykilla is right, the FB system is only used by ebay to harrass us sellers.. buyers dont give a.. just think when you buy something on ebay, it's not a main thing that would decide the purchase if the product/price/listing is attractive

X=D

Might as well just use that account anyways...can't hurt to try and get your feedback up there anyways! Make it a goal of yours to get it up to 98% or something :) Goals are always good to have and keep you motivated.

It use to mean something and it still might cost you a few sales, but with ebay forcing paypal down your throat, most buyers feel protected enough to buy from new 0 feedback accounts.

lakeman 03-30-2009 09:25 AM

Philly, that's the way I also look at it. Plus with an older account its less likely to get suspended.

James, if you really want to start over, that's fine to. If I were you I'd make a new account and let it age for a month or longer and while its aging use the older one.:peace:

ebaykilla 03-30-2009 09:38 AM

i use zero feedback accounts all of the time and sell just fine even right after opening the account. the 30 day thing is overrated too. the only the 30 day period is good for allowing you to list several dozens of items at once. i list ten new items a day on a new account with ease. i wouldn't bank on eGay not suspending you because you been around for over two years...eGay is just too unpredictable with suspensions. i was suspended 3 years ago after having a score of 5600+ and I still to this day feel that eGay was wrong to ban me.

lakeman 03-30-2009 10:32 AM

I know an older account can still get suspended. I'm just saying, it is less likely to get suspended then a brand new account. If you open an account and list high risk items, you are a lot more likely to get suspended then when you do it on a 2 year or older account.

Another reason to keep and improve this account to JamesYaBoay is that he can drop PP on it without faxing stuff in to Ebay, so it's worth something. But I agree, do make another one or two Stealth accounts you can use if and when you need.
