Does anyone know the official policy on return to sender for people who provide incorrect addresses? I have a guy who bought something, it's coming back RTS. He claims he has stuff delivered to him all the time at that address. I haven't received it back yet and I always assumed unless I get the package back we don't refund until that happens.

Well he's saying he will open a case now and Ebay will refund him.

I've googled everything but can't find anything from Ebay.

Well, the item is being sent back, once the item arrives you need to refund them....otherwise Ebay will do it for you, seems straight forward.

which is it - a wrong address or is it a non-existant address?

did he admit it is wrong address on messages? or did you look it up and there is something wrong with it?

how do you know it is coming back - so the item was not received and you assume it is coming back? Isnt it held at the post office initially?

That's not what I said. He wants a refund before the item even comes back to me. There doesn't seem to be any information on Ebay about what happens when items are returned to sender.

The tracking says return to sender. It's a business address and I googled it and it's legit. I even provided the guy with a screenshot of the purchased label and he said it's correct. It seems the mail person didn't deliver it and put it as undeliverable as addressed. He wants a refund because he didn't get it and I have yet to receive it back.

If its a business address, did you put the business name AND a persons name on the address?

Because depending on how large the company is, someone who 'signs' for it may not know the person or if it has no persons name on the package can refuse the delivery.

Well it's a law office in the guys name. Looking at his feedback he leaves numerous negatives for a ton of stuff.
