Accessing my VPN while traveling.

I am traveling home after the holidays and will need to access my VPN.

I am finding it impossible to access my VPN while at hotels and Starbucks.

I can access these open wifi networks, but when I go into my virtual machine and try to connect to my VPN, its just keeps trying to connect over and over, never establishing a connection.

Does anyone have any suggestions or advice for this? I have orders to process today. Thanks!

Is your VMWare Network Adapter setup in Bridged (Replicate Physical Network Connection State checked off) or NAT?

Do I check this in my VMware or under my Internet Connections?

Can I connect my laptop with my mobile hotspot and connect to my VPN that way?

I tried and I still get no connection, maybe I need to reconfigure something?

I have that problem sometimes with various Wifi networks, but when i connect to VPN withy mobile intermet i never have issues
