A way around this ?
 

hi all.. need your brilliant brains for this one..

im using my dads ebay for a few important listings while i try to get my head around the stealth guide.

but i am getting messages from peeps asking about items, but.. my dad lives like 12 miles away, is there a way i can reply without raising any suspicion to save the 20 plus mile round trip just to answer a message from his laptop / address / router etc

i cant use my moby / ebay app .. as i used this on my own ebay before i was suspended, thank you

you can use teamviewer to connect to your father computer and then send message from there. But I don't think 12 miles is a problem

Create a new user account on your computer, change your ip address and you will be able to login.

ok thankyou muchly.. technically its 24 ish inc driving back, i just didnt want to be doing that every day just to reply to a message, on £10 items and spend that on the fuel :thumb:

The new user account keeps cookies seperate from your other accounts.

Aslong as you login using an ip you haven't used before on another account, you can login as much as you like.

just to check as im still learning.. if i log in from the new pc account do i need to change the IP address everytime or just the once, i'll leave you in peace then :thumb:

It's fine to use the same ip everytime you login aslong as it hasn't been used previously with your banned account. The ip must be fresh as to not link your old account to your dad's.
The easiest way to get a new ip is to turn your router off for 5 minutes at the wall. Use Whatsmyip.org to make sure it's changed before and after.

If you have a dongle or tether using your phone you will likely have a dynamic IP address. That's fine to.

but im stumped already.. i knew this was all gonna blitz my brain.

one more thing and i promise i'll go away ;-)

im just in the adding user accounts part in windows 10 .. now, do i add the new account as a person with a microsoft account or someone WITHOUT a microsoft account .. or am in over cautious mode ?

If op use his father's account on a new computer, he will have to do a phone verification or something like that ? is that correct ?

good thinking, my old man is all legit, so would he just receive the text / email as norm and he can let me know the code ?

the only other thing i cant get my head around is.. and its easily done with moi :redface:

ive sorted out the new pc account to log in and out of .. but, the ip address on the 2 different accounts is the same, is this ok or am i doing something wrong ?
hope that makes sense, as i was under the impression that when you log out then log in to the other the ip would change .. god what have i gotten into "gulp"

your IP address has nothing to do with your users account. The IP comes from your modem/routeur.
so you will have the same IP on both users account, but it doesn't matter because what you want to do is to log in your father's ebay account with an Ip never used on a banned ebay account.
Have you found the way to get a new IP ?

thankyou muchly.. yes i can change the ip address, one thing ive managed today, im on a roll

i was just under the impression that the ip changed from when you logged in and out of windows accounts.

just to clarify ..

im on sky broadband ..

but from the list i see in the router settings, only the top one changes, ie, IPv4 Address, all the rest stay the same.. is that normal ? or should i say, is that the important one ? thankyou

IPv4 Address is the one that needs to change, im guessing you are doing this from http://192.168.0.1/sky_router_status.html then dropping the connection from connection status at the bottom of page

also to note do NOT upgrade to sky fibre as it takes a lot longer to shift your existing IP address at the moment known as a sticky IP
