Delivery Confirmation- is it a must?

I sell and ship a bunch of super low-cost items and have always used delivery confirmation... but I can cut my shipping costs in almost half if I don't use DC.

My question is... is it a requirement by eBay to use delivery confirmation? I know you would need a tracking number if anyone opened a where is my item case but besides that, is it a big deal?

ebay and paypal both do not like not having tracking especially on new accounts.

Without it, you are setting your account(s) up for failure. The statistics will suffer and scam buyers will run rampant.

Small pains now will beat the migraine later

How would it affect statistics? My accounts are so old and the items I sell cost so low that I'm not really worried about scamming. I'm talking $5 items here.

shipping times verified for one. Customers leaving low DRS scores for two. Paypal limiting your account until you load all tracking numbers for three. Ebay limiting your account until loading all tracking numbers for four. Getting overwhelming amount of pissed off people because they cant track packages for 5. Last but not least is all the wasted time answering and dealing with this BS byt not wanting to ship normal first class mail for $2.60

My suggestion would be to sell items that are profitable compared to penny profit items.

If you don't use DC you're doomed.

Sorry, but that's the answer.

Costumer realizes you don't use tracking, buys a bunch from you, tells his friends to do the same. They later file claims of items not received and you can't prove you shipped items. That's setting you and your accounts up for failure.
