Moving from old laptop to new

I have an old laptop that is very heavy with 2 stealth accounts.

I want to buy a small netbook for portibility

I do all of my stealthing using a dongle

Is it ok to just use a new laptop with the accounts? Obviously they are on two separate user accounts.

Will this raise any flags?

Thanks for any feedback

The only problem will be the cookies you are missing from the old browser.
I am not sure but there shall be a tool to save them... need other users to chime in.

no problems here doing that - but I am using a 24VC static IP on that account so it's working fine
The rule seems to be ONE thing does not trigger anything but multiple things trigger negative action.

This thing about old cookies is a myth. As long as you keep browser data your accounts will be fine.

Re: Moving from old laptop to new

I just switched to a new laptop.

I created new user accounts with the same name as the old ones on the new laptop, and logged in like normal.

When I made account changes or tried to list, they blocked the action.

I had to get a code proving I was the authorized user of the account through email to proceed. Or I could have taken a phone call, but I chose email, it was easier.

It was a pain, but nothing insurmountable.

Otherwise the transition went smoothly.

Someone suggested here that if you use both laptops at the same time to log in to your account and work from both at the same time, that this might prevent that from happening, but I haven't tried it.

that seems crazy because people may use a different computer for many reasons.

If you have Firefox there is a cookies file, A while back I wrote a guide on how to copy that cookies file from 1 browser to another Firefox browser. If I find it, I will post it.

You can export cookies from 1 browser to nearly any other browser or laptop. Its usually pretty simple

The best place to find out exactly how to do it is YouTube. A quick search on there and you will find lots of walk throughs

do not spend your balance the first 3 or 4 days and copy over any information you can and you should be fine.

This is why I also use Portable Browsers, never need to worry about anything.

Please also for Chrome,I always used Chrome, for all accounts,on different users but always chrome.Time ago I found some info on how to clean coockies, especially those flash which are the most agressive...can I use the same approach? just copy files on flash drive and then paste into the same place on the new laptop /user instead of deleating them?

Go to YouTube,

Search export Chrome cookies.

Save the file on a USB stick and then your set and you can import them into Chrome on your new laptop

Re: Moving from old laptop to new

Firefox portable is its own browser. It is a self contained browser that stores all cookies in its on self contained file.

Re: Moving from old laptop to new

A couple rules to follow when starting fresh with no cookies.

Just log in a few times without making any changes.
Dont try to change personal info or passwords.
Dont try to buy or sell.
Like I said, log in a few times browse, look around, add items to your watch list but thats it. Do this with Paypal also. Log in, check balance but dont transfer or change anything.

You start listing or changing an account on NEW COOKIES, you will automatcially get blocked and will have to jump through hoops for security concerns. Ebay automatically thinks your account has been accessed by someone else.

Yes, but from Eb'y's point of view, I bet 99.9% of all bad things that happen on an accounts that have problems, are happening on accounts that are suddenly used on a different device than normal.
