Question about an eBay case..
 

"The buyer is still waiting to receive their item and wants to hear back from you. You have until Feb. 16 to reply to the buyer. If you can, let the buyer know where the item is."

To build feedback on a new accounts, I sell stuff ranging from 50 cents to a dollar. I usually ship it out through media mail, which doesn't come with a tracking number. A buyer bought something and opened a case a week later due to not receiving it. Right after he opened the case, he sent me a message saying he just got the package. He hasn't closed the case and isn't responding to my message. When do eBay cases close on their own? The case says I have until the 16th to respond to the seller, it is now the 17th?

I'm used to selling on Amazon, I'm worried about this happening with more expensive items.

Take a screenshot or a copy of the email and submit it to both PayPal and ebay. Basically submit as much evidence to exonerate yourself as possible.

First do what fox said but at the bottom of your post you say that you are worried about this happening with more expensive item. It is easy to fix just ship it with tracking.

upload the tracking number on the ebay case, they will decide in ur favour.

No tracking - doomed.

Just respond to the buyer: I am glad to hear you got your item. Can you please close this case?

Then forget about it.

As long as you respond by the 16th, and the buyer doesn't escalate, eventually it will close by itself after about 45? days.
