Selling a higher than average priced item

So my average item sell price is around £20-£30, I want to list a car radio that is worth £600.

Will this raise any flags? Thanks

Re: Selling a higher than average priced item

You have a 50/50 chance it will raise flags, if it doesn't.....that money will be on hold until the delivery of the item.

Thanks, I don't mind if they hold it, im guessing it will be for 21 days as I will not be uploading tracking information.

And thats it? They wont limit, or ask for documents?

If the item does flag your account, they can ask for docs....or anything.

Why would you not upload tracking info on a $600 radio? If it was me it would be with tracking and signature confirmation and packed extremely well. All i can say is if you ship it without any tracking at all you must a huge sack on you.

I will be sending it tracked with signature and up to £800 compensation, I just wont be putting the tracking information on ebay. I dont like putting it on there because I am sending it from my house, when you go into the tracking information on the website it says where it has left from, and that's about 80 miles from the stealth address.

Be sure to insure it.

In the worst-case scenario you will lose your money and your radio both, and the account will get scorched.

One of the most common seller scams on EB is to sell a lot of small cost items over time to build up trust, then sell a huge item and try to grab the money and run.

Sound familiar?

You can bet the bots are probably going to notice this even though you're honest and have no ill intent.

And the lack of tracking is going to throw up an even bigger red flag.

Ok thanks for your answers, I think I will find someone with a legit account and sell it on theirs for a cut of the money.

For future knowledge though, if I opened a new stealth account with 10 listings, list all 10 items with prices from £200-£500, would this be less suspicious? I understand that every account can get burned, I am wondering if they go by average price of sale.

You could print the label with your stealth address and then go to another post office a little bit away so it wont show your addy.

I think most people would tell you start small and work your way up over time, it's just the jump from $20 - $600 is pretty big.

I did that for one stealth and it got limited. Perhaps it was due to the account not being verified at the time. Usually, i would just expect a 21 days hold.
