Buyer just scammed me please help me.
Guys I really need your help. I sold an item that was worth $700. Stupid me should've not sold to someone with a low feedback. Anyway the item was delivered so I'm thinking it's ok now since it was delivered but without a doubt this guy opens a return case with "Item not as described" claims that the device doesn't work... I sent him a brand new one that wasn't even opened. So I thought it really didn't work so I accepted the return and even paid for his shipping fees.
When it finally arrived after a week or so, I opened the box up and it was full of random stuff that I didn't even send. I think this guy was trying to match up the weight that I made the shipping label with. Anyway, not the stuff I sent him. What should I do in this case? Should I open up a case with the police or something? Please help me guys I don't want to lose my $700 item.
Any advice for future reference will be helpful also, like what to do to prevent this. Someone on other sites wrote to video record when you open it that it sometimes helps the case to be on your favor. |

File a police report and a complaint with IC3. Tell him about it. Then tell ebay :)
edit: Also, if it has any type of serial number or Identification symbol, Keep that just in case you need to ID or shut the item down/off. |

file a police report. But it might be stolen by the postman - I read news before someone selling iPhone, when the buyer opened the parcel they found out the iPhone is a ⊗⊗⊗⊗. They called the police and after investigation it's stolen by the postman. |

Classic scam. You can't really protect yourself against this kind of stuff, sadly.
You may win, but historically speaking, you run a fairly high probability of losing your money and product both.
There was even a case where this happened to some prominent journalist, and only after it got national attention did he get his money back.
Follow the advice of the others here, but remember, never sell anything on EB that you cannot afford to lose. |

| What are you talking about, I have had this happen to me twice, file a police report, send everything to Paypal or ebay and they will eat up the cost. Sadly the buyer will most likely get the item and his money back but you get your funds back. |

Represent your case to Ebay, police report etc. More than likely you will get back your money and ebay might pay off the buyer. |

I'm glad it worked out for yotano211, but just because he got his money back, doesn't mean everybody does.
You can search this forum to see just how common it is to lose your money and your item.

| The main thing the OP needs to do is file a police report. Honestly I dont care if the buyer gets the item and a refund. I only care if I get paid which is where the police report comes in. Most likely ebay/papyal will take the lose.
Those many stories you say about is because people dont file a police report or just let it go. Sorry but that does not roll with me. I fight for my money so I cant say anything about other people. All I say is file report and send to ebay/paypal. Lots of magic happens with a police report. |

Are you kidding me or are serious !!! All comments that I read said that it's a kidding and you should never use this method....... Anyway, I already used this method to set up PayPal accounts since one year and never got a problem, Any question I'll be happy to assist you. Regards |
