adding merchant account to ebay
 

Hi Everyone,

I have a Merchant account with authroize.net i added to my ebay account and it says its active,

when i remove PayPal and to accept "credit cards only" I get this message

"Attention Sellers:

In order to use the credit card option you need to have both a valid Internet Merchant account and a payment gateway in place to secure the transactions. To find out more about this please review the information on the following page: How Payment Gateways Work

At this time the only compatible gateways for use on eBay are Payflow and Authorize.net. If you are ready to setup your payment gateway you will find instruction under “Setting up a payment gateway for your Internet merchant account” on the following page: Selecting Your Payment Preferences

Once you have setup your gateway please contact customer service to make the appropriate adjustments to your account to start accepting credit cards.

would i need to call ebay so they can fix this on there end?

You will need to call in to a customer service rep to have them reset your account to start accepting payments. It is pretty straight forward and they do not ask for any additional information.

I tried using my merchant account for payments for a short period of time. In the end it is a waste of time because even if you tell them their purchase is covered by the protections with their credit card, many people don't want to pay with anything but paypal. Total waste of time using a merchant account to take payments.

Thats not true. Serious buyer will pay. Ebay buyer Protection covers the same.
