Do you use tracking/confirmation on every order?

So I am selling on average 15 items a day, mainly games.

Range from £5 to £25.

Anything under £7 I send 1st class.

Anything over £7 I send 1st class signed for.

Signed for postage is an extra £1.10

On average for every 30 items I get 2 buyers claiming they have not received an item.

Im debating wether or not I should just send everything signed for.

It would be good to know how you guys do it, and what are your return levels for people claiming that they haven't received the item.

For me (USA) I send 1st Class with tracking. Signed seems a bit extreme unless the item is worth more than $500 or something like that.

The issue is what you are selling. It attracts scammers like flies around sh*t sadly. You will always have a higher than average stock loss here as people take advantage of ebays money back guarantee. You just need to work into your cost price your average stock loss to cover things so you don't lose out. A good scammer will likely win a case whether you send signed for or not.

If you don't use tracking, you're doomed, Either PP or EB will eventually chew you up and spit you out.

If you send items by Royal mail you are insured up to £20.00 plus your postage costs if you sent the item untracked and if you send it "singed for" you are insured up to £50.00 plus your postage costs.

Now to your question. On the math's allow for every 15 sales one is refunded that's £7.00 however to send those tracked will cost you £16.50. So that would say keep doing what you are doing.

BUT

As has been pointed out to many refunds count against you and people claiming they never got their items my well leave negative feedback so eventually you are doomed without tracking plus if you upload a tracking number the same or next day the buyer can only leave 5 stars for shipping time.

My advice is used tracked however instead of selling one item can you sell two or three at the same time as this would keep your sipping costs lower.

you should add tracking numbers on order. If you feel lazy to do it, eBay has a tool to add them in bulk. Send me a PM if you wanna know more

In the UK you can't get tracking unless you use a "signed for" service. And that might be part of the reason why the price is higher than in the US.

I use Royal Mail 24/48 with 2D Barcode which provides delivery confirmation i’ve Caught scammers with this telling me they never received the item and I forwarded them the tracking number and then I never heard from them lol 😆 anyways this service is free from royal but you have to a business account and send via Royal Mail 24 or 48,
