Buyers Purchasing but not paying!

Hi Everyone,

I have a problem with my ebay store, I just got a merchant account recently and I am making good sales, only problem is buyers are sometimes placing orders for the same item twice, or there either not paying because i don't accept PayPal. I had to cancel over over 25 orders already and relist my items,

also i see ebay is not crediting the fees associated with the cancelled orders, should i call them and explain the situation?

as for the fees, you can get them credited back if you use the dropdown menu next to sale and 'resolve a problem' and state that the item is not paid for, if not, then contact them for the fee refunds....

just go for buyitnow if you are experiencing problems, and use paypal - use it, you are crazy not to!! you will get way more sales that way too.........

The whole reason I got a Merchant account is to avoid PayPal, they have limited too many of my accounts have over $10,000 of my money

Sadly, paypal is the vice for most ebay buyers. Do you say in your description that you do not take paypal?

triple the amount of accounts you have, spread it out, and withdraw more often, then you can use paypal.....leave enough to cover 2-5 refunds and fees in paypal, that's all...........

well i got an MC011 error, then i got a message saying "Your eBay account has been suspended indefinitely."

I didn't do anything wrong? I just spoke to customer service about 2hrs ago about the cancelled orders and selling fees.

i called ebay and they said the reason i was suspended was because of to many cancelled orders.

You made a bunch of mistakes. I tried a merchant account also about a year ago and found out it is a waste. Some buyers were happy to use my option but most cried about not using Paypal because they think it is more secure. The other mistake was manually cancelling orders. I would have just ate the fees and went forward...manually cancelling the orders is a NO-NO, if you did that with Amazon they will axe you as well. Then you are stuck going rep to rep with eBay people trying to retrace your steps and get your account back. Paypal is definitely somewhat evil, but unfortunately it is the way it goes on eBay these days and probably going forward. It is ten times better then it used to be in terms of freezing accounts and asking for documents...I've had a paypal account since around 1998 so what they do these days is child's play compared to the past. You'll probably be stuck starting over at this point. If you play by the rules though you shouldn't have any problems.

I use merchant accounts exclusively. This last week has SUCKED for people not paying. There are a couple of things that you can do to help. In your listings, make it clear you accept any major card through eBay's secure checkout. It's funny these folks don't think twice about using bestbuy's, but the second largest online retailer is somehow insecure. The next thing is to go into your authorize account and look at your transactions. There's a good chance you'll see a bunch of attempts & declines there. You can adjust your security settings to be a little less fussy. Over the last couple of weeks, there have been a lot of international buyers with non-US bank issued cards. Check them out. You also can have address mismatch issues if your buyer is using the shipping address instead of the billing address. You can turn all of that off, but it makes you more open to fraud. I made it so that I have the ability to authorize a transaction in the case of non-us banks (if the CC data makes sense with their account) and have them redo the mismatch so all addresses are billing and message me with the shipping address. Last week there were a lot of Eastern Bloc shipping addresses with other country's billing addresses.
