What if I refuse to pay for shipping
 

a buyer wants to return an item because he can't read. If I refuse to pay for shipping, he will open a dispute and eBay will pay for the shipping. Is ebay going to invoice me the shipping price in my next invoice or is ebay paying for the shipping?

You will be billed for the postage on your next eBay invoice. Either the buyer or the seller pays for return shipping. eBay isn't going to just fork over money to cover shipping costs of their sellers.

Yeah, they're going to get their money one way or another. :(

They get their money... and you can't even leave negative or neutral feedback on the sale.

It's also why I'm hesitant to upgrade. Sometimes its easier for me to upgrade them to Priority, if I have the perfect box ready to go. But... if they return.... it will also be Priority, and full price priority at that.. as opposed to first class stated in auction

Ebay has given me $100's over the years... So, never say never.

I'll give a couple examples.

I had someone open a not as described dispute. I called ebay, and said the thing he sent back was not in the condition I sent it. They refunded me $100 of the $300, and erased all defects and negative feedback I received.

Another time, they closed out a case in buyers favor, but then I proved ( or convinvced them) that I was right, and they refunded the buyer AND gave me money.

Also have gotten quite a lot back in fees and stuff. Convinced them to give me $100 back for UK visibility fees, because of some little glitch they had.

yo, we are talking about SHIPPING FEES here... Just deal with it and move on.

Keep it trucking, these things are pointless- You are just wasting your time fighting it.

It's having an eBay and paying return shipping fees for a transaction versus not having to pay for shipping and risking having that eBay account all together.
