listing says "30 sold"... how long of a period of time?
 

There is a good item to try my first drop ship... $60 profit after fees etc if I take delivery and middle-man, or $85 if I have them ship to customer and true 'drop ship it. A competitor sold 30 at this price, according to eBay. Is that 30 this past year (365 days)? 30 since he ran out at some point? 30 since Jan 1? What does the number sold mean? THANKS

Also... in the case of drop shipping... do you just print your order confirmation page showing what you paid, and write down the ebay sale information and price? The item is $225-250 item would reach my 20k limit fast... so I would need proof of what I paid for taxes to not screw myself. Hopefully the only receipt doesn't go to buyer, and hopefully I can write GIFT and they won't send receipt at all to anyone.

30 since the listing started - when did the listing start? Tough to say.

Example: I have a listing that's been up for over 3 years...the number sold keeps tallying up...

Clicked on '30 sold'... only 2 showed up, 1 since 2017, 1 since 2016. Another competitor only sold 5.. with 1 saying '2017' and zero in 2016. There is no way the first guy only sold 2/30 this calendar year... and there is no way the second guy only sold 1 in this calendar year.... at least as far as I would think?? If the sell through is so slow... it would seem the first guy has had the item listed 10-15 years

why don't you just look at the search results of "sold" items ? You'll at least have 2 months of look back.
