Ebay....wth is going on
 

Did eBay just recently updated their policy where buyers can request for packages to be send to a different address that is not on file? These 2 idiots I spoke to insist that I do so in order to avoid a negative feedback...they had the nerve to advise me to manually change the receiver's address when printing out the label on PayPal, they also claimed that I will be cover by them.... when PayPal are the ones handling all the funds...had to make quite a few call to speak to the right rep in order to avoid defecting my account...

if they have threatened you in ebay messages that they will leave you negative feedback, then that is grounds for removal and ebay WILL remove it if it happens.

DO NOT post to any other address that is written to you in messages, that is NOT on the ebay order or paypal receipt. you will lose your seller protection.

Explain to them how to edit the address :
Click Paynow - then below the address click - change address and that should add a new delivery address.

If they refuse to do this, then they are obviously going to scam you.

Yes, this person kept on insisting that I send it to the other address. His reason for not being able to edit his address was because of an expired CC on file... I was very surprised by how these 2 ebay reps handled the situation. I had to call paypal to clarify the issue.

Thats his problem and ebay will most likely ban HIM, not you. Its against ebays TOS and CLEARLY extortion. As GB would say: Stay in control of the sale.

Tell the buyer that you will be escalating this further to ebay

If the CC is expired how does he think the payment will go through anyway?

Changing an address is really easy when adding a new CC to paypal. So it smells fishy he hasnt done it already.. or avoiding doing it?!!

I would block him and cancel the sale.

@BigCJ, ebay reps sided with him and insisted that I follow up with his request and send the package. Unbelievable right? They didn't give me any other option beside a possible negative feedback and a defect toward my account.
@Bunneh, The reason I didn't cancel the sales was because the last time I did, I received a negative feedback that was not removable. I was given the same warning earlier as well with the first 2 ebay reps that I spoke to. I was aware of the fact that this person is an actual scammer and I wanted to ended the sales as soon as I see his request. These reps are aiding scammers now....

Ebay reps will always side with the buyer. The only good part is that they threatened to leave you negative feedback. I have called for this type of issue before and there are reps willing to read the message and cancel the transition. You just need to try calling ebay reps until you have one who understands you don't want to be scammed.

I once had a buyer try to change the shipping address to a well known "shipping forwarder", which would ship the item outside the US. As soon as I told the rep that, he cancelled the transaction. You may want to try that if it is an expensive item and you are out of ideas.

Ok. So I tried to cancel the order just now but the system didn't not allow me to do so dues to his cards expired. There's a chance this person either used a stolen card or a prepaid card to pull off this scam, because I don't ever remember paypal not being able to refund the money back into their balance unless it was paid with a card...

I would call and talk to Limitations dept. They are usually in the US and have more information available. I always say I am worried that this will limit my account. That's how I explain asking for limitations. They seem to know what is going on more than regular customer service.
