ebay promo: List up to 500 items fixed price or auction-style for free.

Hello I received this mail in my stealth account two weeks aged, with limits 10/1000, I do not know if it is a normal promotion or an opportunity that I should take advantage of...

email:

Please note: Invited sellers must activate the Promotion by selecting “Activate offer” in the invitation email or on the Promotion landing page. Items listed prior to a seller activating the Promotion will not be eligible for the Promotional Rate.

What is the Promotion?
Invited sellers (“Sellers”) who activate the offer and then create a listing in the auction-style format, auction-style with Buy it Now format, or fixed price format, pursuant to the terms and conditions set forth herein (“Qualifying Listing”), will pay no insertion fee per item ("Promotion") for up to 500 listings during the Promotion Period (as defined below). All existing selling limits on your account (as well as category and item limits) still apply, and may prevent you from creating the maximum number of listings in this Promotion. The Promotion is in addition to the free listings per month as part of the everyday rate plan.

Who’s eligible?
This Promotion is available to invited sellers who: (i) received an email and/or message in My eBay; (ii) activated the promotion from the invitation email or on the Promotion landing page; and (iii) meet eBay’s minimum seller performance standards. Please sign in to My eBay and view your Seller Dashboard to verify whether your account is currently meeting the standards.

When is it?
This Promotion will begin on April 05, 2017 at 00:00:01 PT (12:00AM plus one second), and will end on April 09, 2017 at 23:59:59 PT (11:59PM plus 59 seconds), for listings on www.ebay.com (the “Promotion Period”).

I receive these on pretty much every single one of my accounts

Although I am not sure if it will actually let you list 500 items if you only have 10 item limit on your account.

Right. None of these offers will over ride your 10 item selling limit (or whatever you selling limit is when you get the offer). Usually "your current selling limits apply" type wording is in the fine print, but this is often very confusing anyway, the way they advertise it.

You can't list beyond your selling limits.

The promotions are just for a headline. Similar to the 50k ones they sometimes throw out there.

Nothing to be excited about if you don't have limits that allow for the "promotion max listing"...

Funny, they only send these to my low limit accounts that I barely use.

Does anybody still pay listing fees these days? I thought they always give you some promos every month and I thought they only make money thru final value fees.

The 30 day listings are a waste of time, imo, they're buried at the long end of the search engine, and by the time they come up they're old enough that nobody takes them seriously.

And I swear that it seems like listings made on the free listing offers are less likely to show up in search.

Plus you pump a bunch of listings out, very few sell, and it lowers your sell through rate which also impacts your search position.

Overall there's nothing positive in these offers.
