gmail acct suspended
 

I bought an account on here and all is well, 500/20K, after posting for 3 months I get a note from gmail that my gmail account has been suspended? WHAT? I logged onto ebay and changed email address and everything is still working fine but I am concerned about my paypal account. I still log onto it with suspended gmail login.

Anybody ever heard of this?

do you mean suspended or deleted?

Your paypal will be fine, but you just wont receive any emails from paypal, until you update that email address to.

You probably mean 'disabled' - which pretty much means the account can no longer be used or accessed in any way.
This can happen if you try to login in from an overly abused IP address.

thanks, the seller told me the same thing and I updated email in paypal.

How come your gmail is disabled but your eBay pp account is fine. I thought eBay pp is more vulnerable than gmail accounts

PayPal and eBay do not react solely to the IP address, unless it has serious abnormalities such as; Tor, from a different country to the account or from an ISP that is known for abusive usage.

Google Mail have most likely detected a connection; usage or a combination which has resulted in their account being disabled. It is common for email providers like GMX to do this, since they're a target for fraudulent and illegal use.

I presume OP has lots of GMAIL accounts? That could be the cause too (as was a few months back). Gmail didn't seem to like people having too many accounts.

If the account was suspended, following the onscreen prompts GMAIL offers usually reinstates the account immediately.

I've not experienced any other forms of limitation of GMAIL accounts - so cant comment there.

Note - This doesn't necessarily mean you cant continue using eBay / PayPal, just make a new email (preferably Yahoo.com if GMAIL is giving issues) and change the email address over to your new one.

I dont think thats the case. I have had hundreds under 1 IP address. The worst Ive ever had was they needed to verify that I was accessing the account.

OP, do you know if your seller made the Gmail themselves? Because I used to buy accounts from someone and they purchased gmail accounts in bulk and a lot of them were used for craiglist scamming causing the account to get complaints and get disabled.

I never keep the original Gmail account on bought accounts. I just don't like it when someone else has access with recovery or other methods.

A while back a couple sellers went back and accessed selling accounts from account buyers that didn't change passwords or emails and caused havoc.

lol I never changed the password after I bought the account and never had a problem. Do you mind point out which seller on this forum would log into the account after the account is sold?

I just used the gmail account that came with the account. I did go in an change ebay email account and added an additional paypal email. Don't know the issue, just never heard of gmail suspending or deleting a gmail account. Over the years I have had hundreds of gmail account.s
