Goodwill Outlet.. Check it out :).

If you're new to selling and looking for a place to find merchandise, I'd suggest checking out your local Goodwill Outlet store. It's not the same as the regular Goodwill store, stuff that doesn't sell at the store gets sent to the outlet store. They bring out bins full of clothing, books, movies, all sorts of stuff. You fill up a cart with whatever you want, when you go to checkout they weigh your cart and charge you by the pound. My wife usually gets a cart full of clothing for 30 bucks or so, which amounts to 3-4 garbage bags full of clothing.

I'm not an expert on this place, I get all my merchandise through my pawn shop. My wife spent a few weeks watching YouTube videos and reading blogs on how to do it and what to look for at the bins. She is now averaging around $2000 - $3000 a month in profit, last month she pulled in almost $3700. You'll be surprised at some of the stuff that sells, learn your brands if you plan on doing clothing. She just sold a Tommy Bahama T-Shirt for 49 bucks, guess how much she got it for at the bins? 25 cents or so? You can also buy books or movies if you choose to do so.

She goes to the bins for 3-4 hours a day 2-3 times a week. Her sister is also selling on eBay, she is pulling in $1000 or so but she just had a kid and can't do it as much as the wifey can. If you go, make sure to bring gloves and leave your kids at home! Also, if you buy a bunch of clothing that doesn't sell. Drop it off at your local goodwill store lol, anything you donate to them can be written off on your taxes ;).

I can't believe that donating to a for profit organization, is tax deductible lol.

But the rest of the stuff. Good job. If I ever needed to get out of my niche, that's definitely the way to go.

Here they call them pound stores, and people literally fight over stuff in the bins.

Gave it up a few years ago, the bottom dropped out of the clothing market.

I've gone to the flea market with TONS of old family clothing and sold them off for .50-1 a pop just to get rid of them. I'm considering going to one of these and buying up a **** ton of clothing and attempting to flip at flea market for a few hours every other weekend.

And on top of that I can sell other products that are worth bringing to the flea market

These outlet stores really depending on what city you leave near. I used to live in Las Vegas, some years ago Vegas got hit hard by the last recession so people werent donating so much and instead more people where going to thrift stores to buy for their own and not to resell. But cities with a real low unemployment rate will have these thrift stores full with new/newer stuff to resell.
People have jobs so they buy new stuff instead of buying used. You can really make a killing in these outlet stores with low unemployment cities. I'm happy I now live in one, I'll need to check this out, Thankz OP.

Best place to go, is to the nicer parts of town. Plenty of donating lol and the people are too proud to buy from the stores.

Seriously tho. Can anyone explain why goodwill is tax deductible?????

Uncle sam encourages you to share your wealth with less privileged people by making it tax deductive. DON'T BE STINGY.

Yeah, but the good will isn't a less privilege person. If they are a charity, then I'm the pope. They get free stuff, sell it at prices that the needy could never afford, then profit. After they've made as much money as they can, the unsellable stuff goes to outlets. Then, I guess it helps less privileged people..

Goodwill even sells the nice brand name stuff on ebay for clothes to retail ..... They aren't stupid. You really gotta know what you're doing, to make money buying from goodwill, but it can be done. Hell, I make money buying from ebay, to sell on ebay.

Goodwill employs tens of thousands of people, and provides services to help people looking for jobs find them, and to help unfortunates get back on their feet.

Donations of used products helps them finance these efforts.

That's even worse......

I don't care if you're disabled or not, that's messed up....

I've seen handicap people at Goodwills, they can do the easy job just as well as any lazy able bodied person.

There is a huge reselling community out there already. I do go to Goodwill Outlet sometimes its usually nasty and make sure you bring gloves. Its the same crowd that is up early for garage sales etc looking to cherry pick the best stuff. I won't lie there is money to made if you know what you are looking for.

In my honest opinion its an option for the person who has limited funds and just getting started on eBay. More power to you if you enjoy that kind of thing.

But its Godwill Outlets are dirty and you will be rubbing elbows with people not afraid shove you out of the way over a $2-3 item. Please understand the OUTLETS are normally weigh and pay they are very different than most actual Goodwill stores.

I used to watch this old lady, she'd go through the pockets of all the pants and whenever she'd find money or anything else valuable that was left there she'd just put it in her pocket.

She was there almost every day for 2-3 years.
