Appreciate the help, Thank you http://i.imgur.com/RfXRjQV.jpg |

I'd sell as much as you can for the next couple months on this account to try to balance it out.
But you'd have to sell a few hundred items to get out of below standard. If you don't think you can do that then trash that account and get a new one. |

Not sure what's happening since I'm not below standard yet... |

| dallis | 05-23-2017 07:49 PM | Re: Below Standard - What should I do? In the US they usually lower your search rating when this happens.
That's a pretty hefty percentage to overcome.
Probably should start other accounts and have them ready to go in case they close you down in 90 days. |

How did you even get a 33% defect rate when you cancelled 7 items ?? I cancelled 6 item (you cancelled 7) and i only got a 6% defect rate
When i had the below standard it took me months to be above standard
I use to sell about 200 items per day but when i went below standard, i would be lucky if i sell 1 item every 4 days
It took me 5 months to get to above standard |

He is 7 out of 22
You must have had 6 out of a way larger number. I don't want to do the math lol |
| mtdrpt | 05-23-2017 08:41 PM | Re: Below Standard - What should I do? Damn thats so sad. I should never have cancelled the order but just contact the buyer to cancel by himself.
I should get a new account so, prolly the best option over here. :( |
| jakobrockz | 05-23-2017 09:29 PM | Re: Below Standard - What should I do? For eBay whenever I have to cancel a transaction I ALWAYS put it was the buyer who wanted to cancel, then I simply message the buyer explaining that I have to cancel the transaction and they have yet to deny the cancelation request.
Canceled + no mark on my account. |

Canceled + no mark on my account. | I will move into a new account.
Can I create an US eBay account and put high limits on it and then change it into my own country with my personal information (only changing country)? |

I also do that with my accounts. I've been in below standard on one of the best accounts I have. It's preety hard to go back to above standard. Worse I was below standard in Global only and top-rated in the US.
If I was you I would go with different account.

| kev59 | 05-24-2017 09:34 PM | Re: Below Standard - What should I do? Wow. I have never seen a Defect Rate so high. Always try to avoid cancellations on amazon but if necessary, mark as Buyer Canceled. |
| Kissinger808 | 05-25-2017 03:43 PM | Re: Below Standard - What should I do? Hi Guys,
I saw this thread and thought i'd chime in and ask for your wisdom.
I have got 6 defects over 12 months on my ebay account, with a defect rate of 5% currently.
My account has been marked as a "below standard" - unfortunately the reason for 2 of the cancellations was that the buyers seemed to be abroad and had managed to buy my items even though I was sure I had made the selling domestic only.
2 were for items when it came to sell I did a further test (the stuff is legacy computer equipment) and I wasn't happy with the condition of the item going out and apologised to the buyer and explained that I didn' think it was worth the money being charged and I refunded them.
The other two were dodgy buyers.
Can you guys advise on what will happen to my account ? I can still sell just now - but if my rating doesn't improve is the account suspended or cancelled?
I'm not a big seller on ebay - just the odd thing that is surplus for the business.
I have 5/5 on all ratings but the lady from CS said this doesn't matter.
Could anybody help please?
Cheers! |

Stop selling on this account, use another one, and wait the year for the defects to drop off. |

I've been there before
Just show improvement every month, they will not disturb you
You need to sell like 200 more items to be above standard
Every month try to sell more than you sold last month and don't cancel a transaction or get any defects, you will be fine
Note : you listings will disappear to the last page on search result making it hard for buyers to see |
| Kissinger808 | 05-27-2017 04:59 PM | Re: Below Standard - What should I do? HI guys,
Thanks for taking the time to reply.
Yeah I did quick math and noticed that i'd need to sell an awful lot to dilute the defect rate down.
There's no way I have enough stuff to sell 200 items. Also they have reduced the amount I can list from 100 to 20 - so I sort of think they want rid of me lol.
I had figured the account was done for when I saw i'd gone up to 5% - it was a daft thing todo but I had no idea that cancellations caused such serious problems....
Its my fault for not reading the full terms and conditions as I should have - i've been on ebay since like 09 and it must be a nightmare for the folk who use it constantly changing - I thought I was doing well as I have 5/5 on all my star ratings and 100% feedback.
I think I will just wait for the 12 months to pass and wait for them to drop off.
It says here that I have 90 days and every month should shown improvement in the metric of defects.
So I was going to ask finally, even if I don't sell the amount to bring me back into the 2% zone - if I don't have any more defects would this count as improvement and I might not be suspended?
Thanks again |

Thanks for confirming what I thought to walk away from the account in the meantime. |

1. don't let cases close without resolution any more. That never needed to happen.
2. when you get close to falling below standard top using the account. Don't take the risk of that one last defect pulling it under.
3. If one of these is going to fall off soon you may be all right... still, this close to the edge, you should stop selling on this account until you're safer.
4. Figure out why you had the defects, and stop doing whatever it is that caused it or start doing whatever you didn't that caused it. |

Re: Below Standard - What should I do? Get a few new accounts going - rotate sales - give good service - avoid repeating problems.
