Does USPS care ??

A question for you guys

What happens when i send a package with conflicting addresses ??

For example, i live in Texas and my stealth account address is a New York address ??

Won't it be a concern for USPS

One thing they will notice.... they will often complain if your "ship from" zipcode doesn't match the post office you're shipping from. Somehow they (the post office or the workers there) get some kind of "credit" for the amount of work or mail they ship from there, and if the ship from address isn't their zipcode they don't get whatever it is they want. Some post offices I use mention it every. darn. time. And some don't ever seem to notice it or care. I don't know the details about why, but even on flat rate packages the one post office really seems to care.

Also, I happen to know that PP notices when the first location of the postage scan is not close to the seller's address. Sometimes it was part of the reason they limited the account, other accounts I've never had an issue about it going on 4 years now. Not sure why that either, but from my experience it is noticed.

Just from my experience.

Been using stealth for quite some time now and haven't ever had an encounter or issue. I've even waited in line multiple times for them to scan my packages at multiple locations and wasn't told anything.

Just depends where you're at I guess

1,000+ packages this year and zero issues

Ship about 100 packages a week like this. No problems whatsoever. I feel scandalous dropping off 50 packages or so at a time with all kinds of different addresses on them, although most of them are from my area/region... I do have a handful from the other side of the country.

I guess it really depends on the size of the post office, some of the smaller one might care, the larger ones might not mind. No problems for me.

If you are shipping First Class then it should not make USPS a difference. If you are shipping with Priority or Priority Express then the zip code would make a difference on postage. If I use Priority or Priority Express then I change the ship from zip code in ebay to the zip code I am actually shipping from.

Try not to ship too far out, maybe 90 miles max from the zip codes.

I ship about 30 packages a day, I live in texas, my stealth is in california.
no problems, i even put my name address label over stealth address.
no problems.
I do about half first class, and half priority . no problems.

Re: Does USPS care ??

I do 6-800 packages a month, zip codes are all over the place, First Class and Priority, nobody cares.

I never hand my packages to a clerk, I just put them in a blue mail box, one of the huge ones, and they go straight from there to the sort center. Here the blue mailboxes are serviced by a mail truck and nobody from the branch touches them.

Letting a clerk touch your package is a mistake. The first thing they do in my PO is start looking for a reason to upcharge or reject the package.

The best post office I ever used was in a business district, they did so much volume they didn't have the time or energy to bother me over anything. :)

I tend to put my packages in a box or bags and place them next to the counter where the clerks work because they actually scan them. If I just put them in the blue bins or self service area then it won't be scanned until it hits the larger facility.

Re: Does USPS care ??

Like everyone has said above, it is smart to take caution within a range of the actual zip code you are shipping from. Just deem it a "warehouse" location. But the trick that I have always used when forgetting, is to ALWAYS have my weight perfect. If the price is the same through all zones the item will not be flagged for underpaid postage. Invest in a 10 dollar scale and know your packaging practices. You should be perfectly fine, then.

EXACTLY!
Use a good post office where the employees do not care
