I cast my vote, but it could really go either way.

The younger one looks appealing, because it has more recent history?
Although; it could be someone on this site, that's selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗. We don't like it, but they're here learning all the tricks like we are.

The elder could just be a long time buyer, or one of us holding on to an old account.

Knowing everything that I know now, Feedback score doesn't rank too high on my "buying" radar. Don't get me wrong; I don't personally do business with newbies, but a high score doesn't guarantee anything these days. Especially with all the ⊗⊗⊗⊗ on eBay now.

Just my thoughts.

I also vote the newer one, the only good thing about the older one is you can use a merchant account with it without ebays approval first.

The Newer one for sure.

As a buyer, I want to see recent activity on a sellers account.

more feedback is always a plus but then again a 99 cent auction is always just so tempting . . . I have have items go for over $100 on .99 cent auction ZERO FEEDBACK when exact same item wont sell for $49.99 with 200 plus feedback - that the crazy thing about ebay the impulsivness of the bidders verus buyers are nuts

My aunt listed a barbie doll 24.99 auction with free shipping . . . didn't sell

so she asked for my help . . . I relisted at $24.99 with $124.99 BIN and it sold!!!!

somebody bit . . . . it is really a science of selling on ebay . . . use completed auction stats and pulse stats and study them to figure out the best solution for your items

Wow! Overwhelmingly one-sided on the newer account.
This truly is enlightening.

Now what if the product is something the seller has never sold before. Does this make a difference in your mind?

Thanks again.

I only check a persons sold items to see if they sold the same thing before if I'm trying to guess a price range for a best offer.

Ahh, I see.

I am working on 2 -3 items (different than items I have sold in the past) that I can kick ass on. Doing a lot of research and I'm very close to jumping back in. Less than a week and I should be selling again.

I'd really like to use my 9 year old account and bypass pisspal all together by emailing ccnow invoices to the buyers. Thoughts?

Thanks again for your input!

Only if you checked your items are in the right categories where you are not forced to use paypal. Plus, if you haven't used that account in a long time for selling, you have to start slow or it will raise flags with ebay.

Another thing you need to keep in mind...

You will need to also send each auction winner an eBay message to tell them they were sent an invoice.

I use CartManager invoicing, and have MANY customers that don't even have an "active" email address on file with eBay or they just don't check the email associated with their ebay accounts.

Lyda -- thank you. I don't think my items will be a pp necessary category. But I really won't know till I try to list them. I will def. start slow.

Sevn -- thank you. When I used ccnow a few months ago, I have everything ready to cut and paste. Also, in my auction, and right after the auction ends, I let them know to look for an invoice from me and to check their spam folder , etc.

I am trying to avoid pp as best I can.

Thanks !!

You are welcome Trig! I'd just find out on Ebay before listing if they are allowed with no paypal linked or not.

I do the same thing, but I don't even think they read the auction sometimes. I clearly state that I don't accept payments not processed through CartManager or the CM checkout button, and they still try to send direct PayPal payments.

Damn fools.

Sevn -- I agree! One time I offered free shipping if they paid using my ccnow invoice --that worked!

Lyda -- is ther ea link that tells what items/brands must use paypal?

Thanks in advance !

I've seen threads on ebay's forums where buyers ask about CCNOW and all the people there thought it was an off ebay transaction and a scam. Buyers don't like it.

With mandatory paypal payments, feedback numbers are not as important. As long as it is current and mostly positive.

Honestly, I would buy from either. As long as they have some feedback its all good for me to buy. But more feedback is more appealing to me.

I also voted the newer account. I'd much sooner pick an active, newer account, than an inactive, older account.
