Calling to raise limits when you have not yet sold to your limits

What are your thoughts on calling to request a seller limit increase, if you have not yet sold to your current existing monthly Limits?

Eg calling for a limit increase when you have 50/2500 limit, but have only sold 25 for the month

Will Ebay automatically decline? Do you NEED to sell to your limit ceiling to request an increase? Will Ebay flag you?

Just wondering as I plan my strategy. Thanks!

I've done this multiple times. Just make sure your account is in Uber good standing. Meaning uploaded tracking, excellent customer service, prompt response to messages etc etc. The better you look before a review the better you look. So as long as your T's are crossed and i's are dotted your good. My very first increase on a brand new 3 month 1000/25k account was bumped up to 10k/75k. Good Luck and stay stealth!

However.....If you have a brand new account at only 50/2500 and your asking eBay to up you and you haven't sold anywhere near the limits why would they even consider you? I believe this would yellow/red flag you. The only reason I got my crazy increase is because my selling price is low and I need to be able to move more inventory rather than sell high $$$ amounts.

If it were me I would just start making other accounts and keep slowly selling on this one to let the account age and build good standing. Eventually(and this has happened on most of my accounts) eBay will automatically bump you. It might not be what you want but remember......STEALTH!!!

Ask Ghost of Amazon, he's big into this, he'll know all the answers.

Re: Calling to raise limits when you have not yet sold to your limits

My strategy for this has always been to open an account and sell an item or two the first month, and then another few the following month, after which I ask to have my limits raised.

I've done this for dozens of accounts, and save for an instance where I had negative feedback on my first transaction [irritating customer wanted their item shipped next-day, but didn't tell me until after I had shipped it], I've been approved each time.

You don't need to reach your selling limits before requesting an increase at all, just call in, be courteous and genuine in asking for a limit increase, and you'll be good to go.

I'm always paranoid in calling them.

I like to just use back up accounts and let the limits raise on its own.

But that doesn't mean the methods you guys are used to are bad though. I mean if it works, it works right?
