Business seller boost?

Do business sellers get a boost in best match? Typically you see business sellers at first place.

If not, then what is the point of getting a stealth business account as opposed to a stealth personal in terms of getting sales? You're just paying extra fees for the same thing.

Is it just to qualify for the top rated seller rank? Because I have listings on my personal account which are way above some top rated sellers.

Thanks!

Re: Business seller boost?

Business Final Sales fees are much lower than individual final fees. As an individual top rated seller typically id have about 20K in sales a month @ 10% is 2k in fees minus the 20%/ now 10% as of may 1 is $1600-1800 in fees a month.

As a store most of my products are 6% final sale fee and with the Top rated seller discount it gets as low as 4.75%.

So lets look at this again as a top rated business 20k in sales... @6% is 1200 in final sales fees. Minus 20%/10% now is $960-1080 in final fees...now add $25 for the store cost and my fees are at least $500 a month cheaper.

Plus with a store and TRS you get $25 in free supples every 3 months..plus a certain amount of promotional ad fees for free....usually by the end of the 3 months they pay for it in some way other than the discount!

Hope this helps.. I learned this the hard way....years of sales as an individual. If you do more than $400 a month in sales...the store will pay for itself in discounted fees.

Thanks Mike, it's just that personal accounts get these promotions where you have free insertion fees for essentially every product.

Have you noticed an increase in sales since you became a business seller?
I currently do make over $400 a month(about £350 a month). Sounds very appealing too

you get about double the free insertions with a business as you would with a personal. No more sales as a business. Most of my items are best match really fast, so its really hard for me to tell. I sell very popular products but my problem is i take in too much money in short periods of time which im getting paypal doesnt like.

I almost never get any promotions on my stores.

You don't get any additional listing visibility, and you don't get any 'free' listings, you just pay for it in a block.

$400 isn't necessarily the critical number, the critical number is total cost of sales without a store versus total cost of sales with one.

For example, it probably wouldn't pay to have a store if you sell 1 $400 listing a month.
