ebay forcing sellers to share their images

Hi guys

What do you think about this new image policy not sure if it's UK only or Worldwide.

Sellers will be forced to share their image photos in the ebay catalogue for other sellers to use.

I previously have complained to ebay about sellers stealing my product and using my images. I have successfully got the sellers listing taken down.

I'm concerned that the images and products I create will be used by lazy copycats to undercut me and provide an inferior service. I want to be able to product my work and my images. Now it seems the other method I have to do this is a watermark.

Does anyone else share these kind of concerns

Kind Regards

Do you have an article we can see or an email or something?

Here is a quote from the email:-

"From 31 July, you'll no longer be able to opt your images out of the eBay catalogue. This is industry standard, and allows us to better promote the inventory on our site in search and browse pages, product reviews and marketing. Even if you sell unique items, having access to images to better promote your items will help us match buyers with what they're looking for, faster"

Wow, better start watermarking....

eBay can go ahead and use my photos all day if they'll refer customers back to me via the watermarked photo ha

But yeah, scummy move overall. Anytime a company removes your ability to "opt out" it's always scummy
