Chinese supplier keeps increasing price

One of my suppliers keeps increasing the price for my units. I have a good relationship with them, but it has been slowly deteriorating (less responsive CS), and every time I order with them, they increase something about the price. Really frustrating, and I'm pretty sick of it

Yesterday, they gave me a quote where they increased the "shipping fee" by 12% because they said DHL is increasing their prices. Pretty sure this is poo poo.

Is this kind of price BS common for you guys? Do you spread your eggs across a few different suppliers to hedge your bets What's the best way to bargain these people back down? (I've already started looking at other suppliers, which is probably the best thing to do anyway)

my shipping quotes fluctuate and its really bad when you start sending tons express.

You can always get the shipping quotes yourself. After complaining enough.....usually they will let you import your own good. While you will have to get an import license for your particular products.....Im my case, Stainless Steel.

Freight Forwarders and importers can help this as well. For me its like $2000 to import a ton threw fedex economy express. You can ship it palatalized air with a freight forwarder for about $500 but you will have to pick it up from the airport in a truck and depending on the importer....you might need a front end loader...

I'm seeing a lot of upwards price pressure lately, but that's not surprising, the trade situation is in extreme disarray due to uncertainty in the international markets because our government is sending very mixed signals to Asia.

You should try to have more than one supplier per product.

Okay, so get a DHL account yourself and tell the supplier to use your account when shipping.

My Chinese suppliers offer DHL rates so good I can't come close on my own, either that or they are subsidizing shipping.

No I do NOT see this, I am now getting 15% discount for all of my items, if they are raising your price something is rotten in Denmark. I would let them know that there are other people wanting to sell me the same product as a cheaper price. IF you need help with the negotiation just pm me and I will help.

Why don't you find shipping agent yourself? It is not that hard
