Say I had this account. Can I sell an xbox and an ipod as my first items or will i need an accont with higher limits?

You're jumping into high risk categories. I give it a week or two before your accounts suspended/limited

Has nothing to do with the limits.
Has everything to do with getting started slow and with low risk items since the account has no selling history and is new to selling on ebay.
Try to sell that as your first items and see that account get suspended and shut down.

Doesn't matter if its a 10 limit account, or 1,000+ limits, ideally you want to build a rapport with ebay/paypal so they trust you enough to sell such items... if you consistently begin selling such items, be prepared for invoice requests.

The main benefit of having high limits is so that when you grow your business, you don't have a cap on how much you can sell. Whilst the limit does automatically increase, it's not guaranteed.

Since I specialize in video games/accessories and have had experience with this, I believe the xbox (also depending if its an xbox 1st gen or the newest xbox one S or whatever) is fine to sell. The iPod.... no.

It's in best practice not to sell these items from the start though
