shipping address

Hello,
I want to buy a few things, but the problem is, my address is linked with a bad account. Can I just put my address in as a "shipping address" then remove it afterwards. The account was registered with a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ address, so that's the one on file. Would this create a linking issue?

Make a separate account just for buying.. alter the address a little bit and you should be fine

lakeman 05-14-2009 11:17 AM

Hitch, what Yaw said is an option. Also you can send a message to the seller before you bid and ask if they can send it to your "home" address, because your listed address is your "work" address. :D

Hi,
I just logged into both paypal and ebay to see if they had my shipping address on file. And sure enough, they were NOT listed. I guess the shipping address is a 1 time use address and is "disposable" in their system, they don't save it.

So I'm assuming that once you make the purchase, manually enter the shipping address is safe. I did not list it under ebay as a "shipping address" it's an option that you can put it in when making paypal payment. So really, it's a paypal thing.. but it was not listed in their system.:bounce:

Never ASSUME with ebay/paypal. Never risk using an address associated
with a suspended account. fhs, although the info is not on YOUR records,
it may well be held within the ebay/paypal records. That is why it is dangerous to think your way?:typing:

hitch, by all means ask the questions but just be aware that the variations you think of doing may cause you to lose an account. And that will make me very sad especially when the answers are known.:pout:

if nothing else that address will always be in that payment in your account and the sellers account so it is stored somewhere.

Hitch, Please check out this thread about this topic.

I have done this at least 30 times already and my account is still fine Over a Year old now.

I know GreenBean you gonna say do it at your own risk and it's not safe but it is still working for me.

BooMer imo, you are very familiar with
tricks of both paypal & ebay. If it works for you, so be it. If it causes an
account to be lost by a newbie, then that is upsetting,no?:peace:

Thanks for the compliment GreenBean.

Yes it would be upsetting but.....

What we do here is trial and error and we give help with our experiences. Some succeed and some fail. The one that succeeded post the info for other members to get the courage to try it for themselves. I am pretty sure no one on this forum can 100% guarantee that everything will work 100% of the time. IMO
