Buyer opens return item case but has till the 17th to send back and never did?
 

I sold a item as for parts or repair didn't pay attention to one key detail that I said it was brand new sealed which was my mistake. He opens up a case to return has till the 17th to return and didn't. The money is still in pending balance but case is still open, should I call ebay or wait and see if the case will be closed automatically?

If he didn't reply to the case until a certain amount of time, it'll close on its own.

But since it's your mistake, I encourage you to communicate and perhaps give it to him at a discount. So you don't lose out.

The item goes for $600 brand new and sold to him for $220 but he knew it was for parts or repair before he purchased it

so call ebay of you want. That choice is totally up to you. if the buyer did not return and supply tracking within the time frame allowed, you should be granted your funds and case closed.

If he opens return but provides no any evidences of the item being shipped back - he will loose it.

Case can be closed as he didn't send it back :) Simple.

I usually just let them time out and close.

I don't want to do anything that reminds them they didn't return it, or that causes them to take action.
